Restoration - Prose

Isa:4:4
The Lord will wash the filth from beautiful Zion
And cleanse Jerusalem of it's blood stains.

Though filthy you are beautiful
Created by God; for God; for His purpose
Stained and marred now because of sin
Because of your choice.
Because you were left with no choice
Battered and bruised you are
Filthy and stinky you are
Creating disgust in the beholder's eye.

Outwardly you might seem delightful
Though not as beautiful as intended to be
Fallen low; repulsive and revulsive
But I will wash you clean is the promise
I will cleanse you of all filth and mirk
That entangles you. That ensnares you
I will take the initiative
Not you - because you are helpless.

No matter how dark and deep the stains be
You will be washed white as snow
Presentable to the groom; holy and blameless
Pure and blemishless:
Not a blot to be seen.
Crystal clean; I will make you
Like a canopy of cloud; I will be to you
Like a shade over Mount Zion.

I am your tsidkenu
I will enable you to stand.
I am you victory stand.
Equipping you to have a stand.
All this through the blood dripping down
The gaping and jagged wounds
Gushing out sometimes; oozing some times.
In through the wood and dripping down onto
The earth cleansing and purifying it.
At the foot of the cross
Lies this wretched, blind, naked rebel
The blood dribbles on to him
Cleansing him: purifying him: restoring him.

Storm

I have captained this ship for years. I have faced many a strom. But never has Captain Zadok been so helpless. What is happening? Why this outrage? The waves are higher than ten times what I have faced. There is ruckus all over this deck. The mast is broken. What is left of it is a ghost. The rudder has flewn off like a wheel. The anchor is lost. The stern is like a ploughed field. The shrouds are like harp strings, waving around and causing much damage. Shredding pieces of wood and flesh and blood everywhere it hits. There is vomit all around. The ocean water occasionally washes it into my own room and brings it back. The luggages are all floating.  All of the crew is running havoc. Captain Zadok, what should we do? Captain Zadok shall we pull down the sail? Captain Zadok shall i call on my gods? You call on your gods, I used to tell, but I have got this. But have I? Is there somebody up there laughing at the gimmicks that i have been showing althrough my life? Asking m...

Divorce

God hates divorce The same God tells husbands to love your wives as Christ loved the church. The same God tells wives to submit to your husbands. You cannot pick and chose what to obey or not. You might not be physically divorced. You might hang on because it is command to obey.  Love as Christ loved the church, unconditionally, selflessly - is also a command to obey. Even when you do not feel like loving. Be it your spouse, or children or your difficult colleague.  And if you break one, you are guilty of breaking it all.  Image credit:  https://www.shutterstock.com/search/hands-separating

The third temptation

Self.  The root cause of all evil. Have the glory for yourself. The pride of life. Desiring words of appreciation. Desiring important positions on and off the dias. Pushing yourself to glory.  But while playing behind the stage also can be self seeking and self oriented. Why was I not called? Why was I not acknowledged? Why was I not given an opportunity? Equally dangerous is -I am a nobody. I can't compete with others. I am not that talented like him. Digging your one talent is also self appeasing.  You will be like God. You will be able to discern between good and evil. You can have control over your life. You will be in the center of your life. WRONG.  Let Christ be all. And I be nothing.  Image credit: https://www.cartoonize.net/self-portrait-photography/

Noble woman

Proverbs Chapter 31 is an epilogue of a woman of noble character. A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.  Husbands if you get such a wife as in Proverbs 31, you are blessed. Wives, if you are such a person as this, you are a blessing.  But wives know that, you cannot be like that always or forever. Even for a day it's a struggle. Some say, I am not like that, so I am not a blessing for my family. My genetic make up is not like that. I also want my children to arise and call me blessed. I too want my husband to praise me. But i am not as efficient as 'x' or 'y'. I am not beautiful. I am not confident of my physique and stretch marks and wrinkles. My hair is graying. I am still struggling.  If you think in terms of these negative line of thoughts, you will reach nowhere. In fact if you think like this you will become an antonym of blessing.  Now what is the key to be a blessing? What is the key to change?  V:30 Charm...

Slap

How can I show my other cheek. Already he has slapped me. The world will be making fun of me already. And if I show the other cheek too I will be called a fool.  It is pride to not let go. To not let to be trampled. Jesus practised what He preached. He did not retaliate when He had all the power to do so. He could have brought fire from above and annihilated everyone who ridiculed Him. He kept quiet. He let Himself to be crushed in the hands of His own creation.  If anyone calls you names. If anyone spreads rumours about you. One side of the world says to face it and retaliate. Other side says, not to bother, to grow above it. For you are what you think what you are and not what others think. Jesus says to love those who hate you. Oh! It looks improbable. But Jesus led from the front. He loved me who ridiculed Him. He loved me who denied Him. He loved me who did not want Him.  Pray for him who spreads rumours about you. Pray for him who hurts you. It might be ...

Loser#6

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God Cunning hearts win battles in the world. People with pure hearts are labelled naive and are often cornered, utilized and taken advantage of. Some amount of cunningness should be there to live safe, the world says. Or else people will cheat you.  Jesus says, blessed are the pure in heart. For they will see God. What more do I want. Make my heart pure before you. Make me naive for I want to see you.  Image credit:  https://newdayos.com/2022/06/15/blessings-of-a-pure-heart/

The second temptation

The second temptation, Jesus had to face was about questioning His relation with the Father. One of the core of the temptation that you would face is the question of your faith. Doubt of your Father's love.  Sometimes the devil brings in rationality. Sometimes illogicality. Sometimes doubt. Sometimes overconfidence. But the core of relationship is what the enemy always is trying to axe.  If we fail to believe what God has promised,  we are sure to fall. When the serpent asked, did God really tell, then Eve had second thoughts, that's where the fall actually happened in the Garden of Eden.  So when tempted come back to where God's heart is. There is your victory.  Image credit:  https://www.istockphoto.com/search/2/image-film?phrase=jigsaw+puzzle+heart
