Good

Jonah:1:14 O Lord you have sent this storm upon him, for your own good reasons.  God has His own reasons to allow these apparent bad stances that happen in our lives. It may appear dark and horrific. Terrible and intangible. We would be filled with questions with no answers.  But we can be sure of the goodness of God. A God whose very attribute which is woven into Him is goodness. For all things God works for good for those who love Him and are called according to his purpose.  Do not be discouraged. Do not be disheartened. For He is good. And there is no doubt about it. He is lovely. He is beyond being good. The goodness that we can perceive. He is more than that. Can we trust Him.  Image credit:  https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=374873214670639&set=a.374873181337309&type=3

Consequences

Jonah:1:12  I know that this terrible storm is all my fault.  All sin has consequences. All disobedience has. All rebellion has. All of these clenched fists will not be ignored. Forgiveness and accepting the apology is the attribute of love. But so is the attribute of justice to not put aside the consequence. It affects the balance.  So you think you could evade from the holiness of God, you are mistaken. The storm had to come in Jonah's life in order to point to his disobedience. Fire and sulphur had to come raining down from heaven to point to Lot's wrong choices and also Sodom and Gomorrah's vile sins. David's child passed away, even though he repented and cried to the Lord. Solomon's subtle compromise drifted him away from God. Each and every act of yours that moves you away from God has its own repercussions. You cannot escape that for sure.  Oh! That's cruel from a so called loving God, is it? Yet the ultimate consequence of each and every sin

Trials

The powerful winds hurled, the violent storm was rising, the ship was about to be destroyed, lives including those of the other sailors were in danger. All because of Jonah's disobedience. All happened so that Jonah would come back on track.  John:16:33. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, for I have overcome the world.  Trials and sorrows and troubles and hardships whether it is out of your disobedience or not, are for your good. Because the word says that all things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Can we trust His Sovereignty?  Goodness might not be as you imagine - in healing, in stoppage of persecution, in financial stability, but in coming back in track to God. Because it was for this you have been created. Being tuned to the person of Christ.  So can we say trials and troubles are good? Can we thank Him for our trials?  Because without these you would continue to drift into the

You can't - a poem

Jonah:1:3 Hoping to escape from the Lord by sailing to Tarshish.  You can't escape God From His statutes, from His standards He is who He is - from the beginning to the end He doesn't change. He is the same.  You can't escape God.  The sin He abhored then, He abhors now too No compromise. No dilution.  Sin is a sin is a sin for Him. And for you?  You can't escape God.  His eyes always search the world.  Like a hound in the heaven He is watching over you - 24 x 7. You can't escape God If He has asked something You can't run away like Jonah did Hoping He'll not notice. He will not bother.  You can't escape God.  The Maker, Sustainer, Judge.  At some point if you reject the compassionate Jesus Later you would face the righteous Judge.  Do not try to run like Jonah It's useless. Acknowledge Him while you're young He will make your paths straight. He promises life to the fullest.  You can't escape the love of God.  Which was poured out full on Cal
