The halfbaked Bard

Do not worry. A word with heavy meaning and substance. A sentence we often love to hear from our loved ones especially in times of trouble. An assurance that it is okay. In Malayalam a very close word is "saramilla". How comforting it is to hear someone say that. He might not have things under control. She might not have a solution for it. All it means probably is, I am with you in this. We will face it together. And we will come over this together. It doesn't look too big to scale. It is fine. It is okay. We all are in search of friends. Friends who would understand us. Friends who would be with us always. Any time, even the darkest hour, they would be on the other side of the phone. Or even close to us.  And we all want to be that friend for that one person whom we so dearly love.  Not to just hang out and have fun. But to the core. To be one who will be there for them. To be the friend in need and thence the friend in deed. There’s not a Friend like the lowly Jesus:   No, not one! no, not one! None else could heal all our souls’ diseases:   No, not one! no, not one!   Jesus knows all about our struggles;   He will guide ’til the day is done: There’s not a Friend like the lowly Jesus:     No, not one! no, not one! To be precise Jesus is the only friend like that. Who will always be there. Who will take care of our every need, even concerning our souls. Concerning eternity. The one who called is faithful. He is worthy to be trusted.

2 Sam:10:5 David sent his ambassadors to the newly appointed king of Ammonites, Hanun, to express his grief over the death of his father, king Nahash, saying that he is going to show loyalty to him, just as his father showed loyalty to him.  But Hanun dealt with them in shame, shaving off half of their beard and cutting off their robes.  In v:5 we read they fell deep shame because of their appearance. And David also identifies with them, sympathizes with them. He is also ashamed along with them.  David as a king is a perfect example of what God is for us. When you are ashamed, He is also ashamed along with you. When you are saddened, He too is saddened with you. When you are joyous, He rejoices with you. He is a God who identifies with you. He is a God who feels for you and is with you at all times.  It is so comforting to know that there is a friend always, by you, in your times of joy and in your times of sorrow.
