In anguish

Was your God able? - King Darius As we read those verses about King Darius' mind which is so disturbed because of the plight he himself has pushed Daniel into. He was deeply troubled, in anguish, fasting, refusing to take any entertainment finally drags the night into dawn. Very early the next morning he runs hurriedly and hoping against all logic and hope he asks, Daniel, servant of the living God, was your God whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?  Will we do this? Like this gentile king, who doesn't even know this God personally. In a crisis; in other's crisis do we cry out to our living Almighty God expectantly for an answer. Fasting and skipping all sorts of entertainment and spend time in prayer alone? If not is it not true that we don't know this God even as much as this gentile king knows (forget about Daniel)  Oh! Forgive me Jesus for being complacent in our prayers. For ourselves, for others. Like it is urgent and extreme

Deeply troubled

Dan:6:14 Hearing this, the king was deeply troubled and he tried to think of a way to save Daniel. He spent the rest of the day looking for a way to get Daniel out of this predicament.  Oh! What a testimony? What a man is this Daniel? Very little do we know of him. All that is written of him in these twelve chapters is quiet less. Much more is implied in this verse. A gentile king trying to revoke his own decree for the sake of the godly man. And this is not the only king. The one before him and his predecessor had the privilege to know Daniel's God in a miraculous way. And was it the only time frame of his life? No. As a youth, as a middle aged man and as a veteran, Daniel stands for his God. His faithfulness to gentile king is exemplary. Such is his trust in the God whom he serves.  Are our employers, bosses and colleagues deeply troubled when we are in a crisis. Do they see the God whom we serve in us? Are we a good Bible to those who haven't read any?  Image cre

The habit

Dan:6:10 But when Daniel learned that the law has been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always do me, giving thanks to His God.  Three characters of Daniel are notable in this famous verse.  # When crisus came Daniel prayed. He did not fret. He did not try to solve it out by himself. He did not get angry. He did not feel helpless. He just went and prayed.  # As usual, just as he had always denotes his habit, his character. It was not in his crisis alone that he went to pray. It was his custom to pray. His normal routine. Come what may.  # As he prays he expresses his confidence in God by giving thanks to his God. He saw his friends being delivered from the fiery furnace, how his God delivered him from his troubles,  how God revealed to him meanings of dreams and visions. This too God will deliver, he was assured.  He continued his habit of prayer.  Image cre

The hard worker

Dan:6:4 But they couldn't find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible and completely trustworthy.  Oh! What a man was Daniel. Full of the Holy Spirit. Yet never compromising on His responsibilities, his duties. He was faithful, always responsible and completely trustworthy.  How I wish each of us who claim to know this faithful, responsible and completely trustworthy God, would emulate Him in our work places.  Blameless.  Trustworthy.  Would our employers want to have us back, not wanting to let us go?  Would they want to know this God that we follow?  Do they know why we are doing what we are doing? Let it not be name or fame, passion for career, money orientedness. Let the reason be only God and let it be known to them that it is because of Jesus that we are different.  Let us not lazy around. Let us not evade from responsibilities. For students let studies be of utmost importance. Let us do everything as for the Lord.  Image credit: htt

Jehovah Shammah

Ezek:48:35. The Lord is there  Jehovah Shammah is an assurance. That the Lord is in control. That whatever you go through, the Lord is with you. That He watches over you without sleeping or slumbering. He is your fortreas. He is your tower. He is your refuge.  Jehovah Shammah is a surety. That God is enough. That God alone is needed. That God alone is enough. That no matter how grave the situation looks like, the presence of God is enough.  That He is an everpresent help in times of trouble. That He will never leave you more forsake you. That He will never change like shifting shadows. He is constant. He has promised to be with you to the end of days. That He will never leave you not forsake you. And He is true to it.  Image credit:  https://www.bibleinfo.com/en/questions/jehovah-shammah-meaning

Resolute

Ps:139 Famously known as  The hound of heaven.  A hound is known for its persistence on chasing the animal out. Adamant to bring out the catch for the sake of its master. No matter what. The hound will continue to chase. It is resolute.  A resolute God. Who would never leave you. Persistent. Adamant. Unlike the hound, who is resolute to chase you out of your hiding to tear you apart, to destroy you, this hand of God chases you to bless you, guide you, support you.  Even before I was born, in my mother's womb, in the darkness when He formed me. He saw and the plans for me were already laid. His thoughts for me are precious.  A hound who would chase you out of your hole to safety, to prosperity, to wonderful plans for you. To your destiny of blessing.  Why do you want to be in that hole still? He is resolute. You are too. Come out for your own good.  Image credit: https://the-brand-guy.com/real-you/brand-as-purpose-10/
