Sufferring

1Pet:4:19 So then those who suffer because it is God's will for them, should by their good actions trust themselves completely to their Creator, who always keeps His promise. Suffering is always a difficult pill to swallow. Whether it is by your own bad deeds or if you do not deserve it. But for a Christian, suffering comes along - for no reason or as a consequence of sins. There is a four fold reason for suffering in the life of a child of God. 1. We are in the enemy's territory. And the enemy who will fight tooth and nail against our head Jesus Christ, will fight against us as well, trying to render us powerless. But be of good cheer. He who overcame all these is with you till the end of days. 2. Suffering is to be considered as a consequence of man's sinfulness, rather than a particular sin. Our fallenness and our wretchedness. Yes, now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. But in this world you will have much troubles, the same Jesus pr...

Promise of suffering

Acts:23:11 That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, 'Be encouraged Paul. Just as you have been a witness to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well.' Paul was about to be trialled in Jerusalem. Most probably he is going to be executed. But the Lord says, you will preach the Good News in Rome as well. That means he wouldn't die here in Jerusalem and would go to Rome. Paul absolutely believes this and all his actions and decisions are later based on that. I am going to Rome. Secondly God did exactly that. When God promises something, it is our duty to just trust that. And it is His duty to fulfill that. All we have to do is to just believe what He has promised and base all our life around that. He will do it for sure, because He said so. For He is true and faithful. And remember His promise is not always a promise of blessing. It is surely a promise of suffering and pain. Why was Paul confident of going to Jerusalem? Because he kn...

Correction

Pro:10:17 People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life.  But those who ignore correction will go astray.  There are many ways to face correction. One is ignore it as you haven't heard it. As if you are not bothered. One way is to retort, complain and whine. One way is to painstakingly accept it, as a torture, as your fate. That you see it as a suffering. But the best way of it all is to accept it with gladness and joy, waiting for the greater glory it can offer.  All sufferings are channelled through God as disciplines for us to be transformed into His likeness. It takes faith and absolute trust to understand this. For it takes us from one glory to greater glory which He has planned for us. It takes away the pride in us. It humbles us. It builds your trust in your Father in heaven. Which is more beautiful considering the thing you are going through.  Image credit:  https://gianfrancoconti.com/2015/07/02/7-reasons-why-error-correction-does-...
