Godliness

Godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1Tim:4:8 Godliness is God orientedness. It is bringing God in every equation. It is trusting in God in every situation. That is the real fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom. That will bring promise both for the present life and for the life to come. It makes life simpler. In the middle of tumultuous waves, it brings peace. For the creator, sustainer God is with you in the boat, then why worry! God is with you, is the greatest promise you can have. Are you with God?

God

1Tim:1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen. Eternal. Not created. The Alpha and the Omega. The Beginning and the End. Who exists from time immemorial to time endless. Immortal. No death. Nor does He succumb to decay. Not defined by rules of the end. Who exists beyond. Invisible. Not the age old concept of God is there in everything. Not even the unseen guest of our home. But the omnipresent. He is the Only God. To Him be the honour and glory forever and ever.

God

Think of God. He is not a God of your imagination. Who could be as weak and fragile as you.  He is God, who imagined and created everything. He is the One who fashioned it. He is not created. He is everlasting God.  He sustains it everyday, every moment. The animals look to Him for survival. The sun and the moon and the stars and the seasons are all at His perusal.  He judges righteously, for He is holy. He is not corrupt. Not a tinge of sin is in Him.  It is this God that we worship.  Isa:40:16 All the wood in Lebanon's forests And all Lebanon's animals would not be enough To make a burnt offering worthy of our God That is exactly why He had to be the sacrifice Himself. In order to save mankind. In order to bring him back to Himself.  The imploration is to trust this God. And not fret about anything else in this world.  Isa:40:31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength They will soar high on wings like eagles They will run a...

You alone - Poem

Based on King Hezekiah's prayer after he received a letter from the messengers of King Sennacherib of Assyria. 2Kings:19:14-19 You are not a God who is confined Is anything difficult for you; is anything impossible? All you ask is that we would come to you When all aides fail; when all helps cease You alone are God; Help me Lord. You are not a God, whose identity is a figure Wooden or golden or metallic, who is limited. Yet a person: who has an image and likeness A God who is in favour of those who love Him You alone are God; not abstract You are not a god, created by imaginations Created by necessity of a supreme being that can surpass all A superhero, created by man's fantasy to rescue him You are God; always existing; Alpha and Omega You alone are God; Almighty All powerful You are not a god, like the shifting sands Who has a standard today, something else tomorrow Says something today, and then a different one tomorrow Who compromises; who has favourites You alo...

Shalom - Peace

When Gideon realized that it was an angel of the Lord he was talking to, he got scared and prayed to God. God promised him he wouldn't die, because he saw the angel face to face. Knowing the presence of the Lord in that place, knowing that the Lord is with him, out of gratitude he builds an altar to the Lord, and names the place Jehovah Shalom, which means the Lord is peace. Wherever the Lord is, there is peace. Shalom is one name of God which describes Him.  It is the third of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promises rest and peace to anyone who is weak and heavy laden. John:14:27 - Jesus says, Peace I leave to you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives, do I give to you. And we are called to be peacemakers and peacemakers are promised to be called children of God -Matt:5:9 In this time of uncertainties and unrest, peace is something which everyone desires. As nations, as authorities as common people. And anyone who offers peace or offers to be a peacemake...

How majestic is our God?

Do we realize we are following an awesome God? Such a powerful God He is. Such a huge God. Psalm:18:15  Then at your command O Lord At the blast of your breath The bottom of the sea could be seen And the foundations of the earth were laid bare. I am awestruck when I read Jer:5:22 today I the Lord define the ocean's sandy shoreline as an everlasting boundary that the waters cannot cross. The waves may toss and roar but they can never pass the boundaries I set.   I'm also left speechless when I read through Job: chapters 38,39,40 and 41 at one go. This God is beyond our imagination. He is magnanimous, magnificent. He is Almighty, All Powerful. That same colossal God takes a different role in Psalm:18:16 He reached down from heaven and rescued me He drew me out of deep waters. He loved me so much that He did not want to leave me in that miry clay. He chose to rescue me. His magnanimity all the more increases. He is too good to be true....
