Freedom - a poem

Free from accusation. Phil:1:22 As the devil stands to accuse me, He has his menacing smile on his lips, His heart sniggers to have me his claim, He claims he has already won. I stand with head bowed down And dejected, I stay there helpless I know his accusations are all true, None of them are fabricated. I am guilty. And as he opens his mouth in victory Another voice like the rushing waters proclaims, It is finished.  And the enemy's mouth was shut permanently. I saw my loving husband; still wounded  Wounds instilled by my own claws He says with an everloving smile Comey love, it is all over. Now there is no condemnation I am free from all accusation Now a year drop fell from my eye Now I know I have already won. Image courtesy: https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=broken+chain

Freedom

Gal:5:13 You my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge in sinful nature, rather serve one another in love. Called to be free. But there is no license to use that freedom for whatever you want, and live a life however you want. Freedom that Christ promises is not freedom to do whatever you desire. But it's freedom from the yoke of sin. To be released from the power of sin and to do not what we want, but what we ought. As planned by God, the good and perfect plan. Freedom is not licentiousness. Freedom is allegiance. Freedom is obedience. Freedom is trust. Freedom is deliverance. Freedom is believing the truth. Freedom is abundant life - life in its fullness - as promised. Freedom is liberation. Image courtesy: https://www.alwaysonpurpose.com/2021/02/4-step-process-to-find-true-freedom/

Freedom

It was for freedom that Christ has set you free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject to a yoke of slavery. Gal:5:1 Christ has set you free from the yoke of slavery of sin. You are not longer bound to be under sin, forced to do things which you are not willing or wanting to do. You are free indeed. But still you can choose to do that. Not bound to do, but choose to do still. Stand firm therefore and resist. Flee. For you are free to flee from the sin that so easily entangles. The one who is in you, who empowers you, is more powerful than the one who is in the world. Resist. It is not impossible. Would you? Image credit:  https://www.instagram.com/p/C_lHZjksyla/

Freedom

Ps:119:45 I will walk in freedom For I have devoted myself to your commandments.  The world says, the rules and regulations of the Bible are troublesome and burdensome. It binds you tight.  But the truth is that, it is releasing and freedom giving. Freedom from the enslavement of sin. Where you were once forced to only sin, now you are free not to. You had the option to sin only, then. But now you're free indeed.  The Father has given you the privilege to choose not to sin. That's walking in freedom. And that will be possible only if you devot yourself in His commandments. Fully dedicated that you fill your entire heart with His commandments so that you would not waver from it. The Word enables, the Word equips.  Ps:119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.  Ps:119:45 Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.  Image credit: https://www.freepik.com/free-photo/seagull-flying-with-clouds-b...

What is freedom?

2Chron:1:1 Solomon son of David took firm control of his kingdom, for the Lord his God was with him and made him very powerful. Because the Lord is with you, you have the authority to take firm control of your life; your relationships, you responsibilities, your daily etiquette. You have the freedom to have control. You need not be tossed about in waves as in a roaring sea. As long as Jesus is in the boat, the sea is supposed to be calm. True freedom is not like a kite, whose thread has been cut off and flies haphazardly. But a flag that is hoisted high. It is supposed to be fluttering in the wind wide and high enough to convey the message. Choosing to clip off the connection will not help. The other extreme of being tied up to the chair is also not worth it - because of your emotions, because of your feelings and because of your what ifs. Taking firm control because of a fruitful relation with God is what He expects us to have. That is abundant life. And because that fruit...

Set free

2Sam:22:21-25 The Lord rewarded me for doing right He restored me because of my innocence For i have kept the ways of the Lord I have not turned from my God to follow evil I have followed all his regulations I have never abandoned his decrees I am blameless before God I have kept myself from sin The Lord rewarded me for doing right He has seen my innocence. These are not the words of a person who has tried not to commit sin - like Joseph of the old testament, like Jesus, but a man who failed miserably, King David. He preaches fiercely of his innocence, having kept the ways of the Lord, being blameless, kept himself from sin. How could he? Did he forget what he exactly did? No! To be precise; His God forgot. A genuine repentance cleansed him of his sins. His conscience is clean. God never keeps a record of the sins repented. Such beautiful is the invitation for this relationship of rest in Him. Though you may stumble, you will not fall. We New testament Christians have a ste...

In forgiveness there is freedom

Gen 45:15 Joseph's brothers were able to talk freely with him, only when they understood that he forgave them. Whatever bad they had intended, Joseph has forgiven and has believed that it has happened for their good. Till now they were fearful, now they can deal with freedom.  Dealing with compassion and forgiveness, telling them it's okay, releases both you and them from the bondage of unrest, peacelessness, fear, worries and anxiety. If there is anyone who needs forgiveness today, it is you. Freedom beckons you. Choice to forgive others releases you.

Independence or freedom?

What else to consider, on this 75th independence day of India, than the original scenes in the garden of Eden.  'Let us make human beings in our own image to be like us' Each phrase on its own has indepth meaning.  Let us - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit is involved in unity.  Make human beings - No evolution, no spontaneous mixing of chemicals. Man has been created by the Holy God.  In our image -  We are created in God's image. Unlike all other creations we are born to reflect His glory.  To be like us - God has created us, so that we would be like Him. That is the sole purpose of our lives. That is the abundant life He has promised. That is the plan He has to prosper.  Anything short of this is slavery. Freedom lies in the privilege to live the path that has been planned for us. Anything short of it is ' hamartos' Sin has marred that purpose of ours. The evil one gives us umpteen more reasons to live, labels it as independence. ...
