Gentle flowing water - a prose

Isa:8:6
My care for people of Judah is like the gently flowing waters of Shiloah. 

Tender loving care of God. I have placed you in my palms. 
You are my signet ring, He says. 
His love encompasses and engulfs you. How soothing it is to be indulged in His care. 
All over you. Underneath you. All around you. 

But you have rejected it. You are more concerned about momentary deliverances. 
As long as the trouble is there, you think about God. 
You stay close to Him. 
But when all is well, you forget His presence. 

Once the problem is solved, you don't even wait to utter a thanks. 
You take Him for granted. 
As if you deserved it, or you attribute it to luck
Why do you forget His attributes? 

Why there is no consistency in your following your leader? 
Where is your reflection? 
The Holy One; the Infalliable One:- Where is your holiness? Why do you still love sin? 
The Eternal One; The Almighty and All Powerful:- Where is your trust? That all things He will work for your good. 
The Loving Everlasting Father; the Wonderful Counsellor:- Why not in His bosom you lay? 
The Prince of Peace:- Where is the peace that passeth all understanding that He promised? 
The Creator King; in Him and through Him and for Him. Then why this swelling up with pride? Why this anger? Why this adamance? 
Why there is no humility like your master? Who wiped clean His disciples feet. 
Who humbled Himself to obedience unto death. 
Then why do you argue to ascertain your point? 
Why not let go? Why don't you let your brother win? 

Why so self oriented? But your example came according to the will of the Father. 
Why do you want to project yourself presentable? 
Why do you want appreciation from others - when there is someone waiting there overflowing with love? 
Why do you do or say things to please others? 
Why do you get hurt when others tell ill of you? You are His beloved. Your Father loves you eternally. 

"Come back"  isn't the right word. 
Why can't you stay? 
Why do you want to pay a visit and then go back? 
Stay. Enjoy. Indulge. 
The gentle water is always flowing. 
Not to just drink and be satisfied and go into the world, to be thirsty again. 

But to make this bank your dwelling place. 
Walking with Him daily. 
Dwelling in His presence 24 x 7
Enjoying His company always. 
Be a citizen. Not a visitor.

Husband and wife

Unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. 1 Pet:3:4 Though this is told to the wives; it is a very good admonition for all of us. To have a gentle and quiet spirit, is an incomparable unfading inner beauty. The real beauty is not your outwardly appearance. Real beauty is your inner spirit - to be gentle and quiet. Not to be quarrelsome. Not to be picking fights. But to be a peacmaker. especially in your family. V:1. Wives, in the same way, be submissive to your husbands. In which same way? The example is of Jesus. 2:23. When they hurled their insults at Him, He did not retaliate, when He suffered He made no threats.  In this same way, wives be submissive to your husbands, no matter how well or bad they treat you. V:7. Husbands in the same way, be considerate, as you live with your wives.  In which same way? The example is again of Jesus. 3:7. Mist

You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. James:4:14 Life is so futile. And temporal. If you concentrate on what you are gonna get in this life. You will definitely be disappointed. Those temporary happinesses will not last long. Like a puff of smoke it will vanish. For you are made for eternity. Where as, if you invest in things which are eternal, which will last for eternity future, then that is a wise thing to do. The choice is yours. If you invest in worldly happinesses then you would be called wise by the world and a fool by God. Look at the parable of the rich fool in Luke 12. It was a wise thing that he did, to invest wisely, to break down his old small barn and build a bigger one. He invested wisely according to the world. But God calls him a fool. But if you invest in Godly things, God will call you wise eventhough the world will call you a fool..... Who do you want to call you wise? The choice is yours. But the consequence is also yours. Painful

Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials ofany kind. James:1:2 How can you be joyous when you face trials? You know for sure that God is in control. You know that God will work on your favour because you are His beloved. All things God works for your good. You know that God will bring about a solution. These are good reasons to be joyous. But apostle James tells even more better reasons. Persevere during testing times. Cling on to God during these difficult times. Because perseverance when it finishes it's working, you will become mature and complete. Your character will change because of that perseverance. You will become more Christ like. Just as He desired you to be. Complete. Just like silver is purged of gross when it goes through fire. It is difficult for the silver. Painful. Nothing complete happens for the silver which jumps out of the refinery. It remains unpurged. Therefore cling on. Hold on. Hold fast to the One who allows you to go through this. He will...

Draw near

Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. James:4:8 Come out of your rebellion. Stop taking the driver's seat. Draw near to Him. Be miserable, mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom (v:9) Be serious about your rebellious nature and seriously repent. Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord. (v:10) A repentant mournful heart is always better than a rebellious pseudojoyous heart. In Christ alone is your complete joy. Repent of your rebellious ways and reinstate with Him. Humble yourself in God's presence. You are nobody big. You are nobody significant unless God is on your side. Keep yourself at His feet. Because of your sin, you do not even deserve it. But God has been gracious. Always be aware of this. Anthem

Heb:13:15 Through Jesus, therefore let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name. A sweet aroma, a sacrifice pleasing to Him who hears. Confess Jesus' name. Acknowledge His authorship in our lives. A sacrifice of praise. Nothing much sweeter for Him, than His child giving glory to Him, despite the circumstances. Praise is the natural word that comes in the mouth of the believer in all situations. Out of his belief that his Father has got all things in control. It is pleasing for Him to hear. Because it involves trust. And trust is something which pleases God. Let praise be your anthem. In joyous circumstances, let it be an anthem of thankfulness. In difficult situations let it be an anthem of trust and hope. As much as it pleases the Lord, it disturbs the enemy. The devil flees with the shout of praise. Let it be a natural response. Authority

Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men. 1 Pet:2:13 Slaves submit yourselves to your masters with all respect not only to those who are good and considerate but also to those who are harsh. 1 Pet:2:18 Submitting to your good and considerate bosses is easy. It is a natural response. It doesn't require an advise or an admonition. However if he/she is a hard taskmaster, you are still asked to submit. Naturally you would submit, but with a grieving, complaining heart, dissatisfied. Yet here the apprisal is to do this submission for the Lord's sake. Thankfully, genuinely. With contentment.  Inorder to be contented, you should enlist the things that you are thankful for. Make a list to praise God for the very things that you are frustrated about.
