Psalm:27:4
The one thing I ask of the Lord
The thing I seek the most
Is to live in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life
Delighting in the Lord's perfections
And meditating in His temple.
What is the one desire of your heart?
To own a 4 wheeler, to have a 5 digit payroll, to own a 6 or 7 digit worth house?
To enjoy life?
To make name of your own?
David's one desire of his heart was specific and clear. To dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life, to delight in His perfectiins and meditate in His temple.
Solomon had everything under the sun he could dream of, but towards the end of his life he says everything is meaningless, completely meaningless. He lists many things including wisdom, pleasure, work, friendship, power, wealth. Ultimately he concludes in Eccl:12:13-14
Here now is my final conclusion. Fear God and obey His commands for this is everyone's duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.
Both the father and son is essentially saying the same thing. But I believe David enjoys being there in His Father's presence whereas his son Solomon, still fearfully aproaching God.
The choice is yours. There is only one valuable and worthy thing to do. You can choose to do it or not. You can also choose to do it lovingly enjoying as to your Father or fearfully as to your Master.

ReplyDeleteAmen. Like Psalms84 talks about being in the courts of the Lord and even the sparrows hv found a home there... There is no place like being in the Father's presence.
ReplyDeleteAmen. There's no home like His bosom
