In this world which is so self oriented and self centred, Ruth stands out as an example otherwise. Ruth loved Naomi so much that, though she was young and could have had a life of her own, she chose to be with her mother-in-law through thick and thin. Wherever you die, I will die is such a powerful statement for a daughter-in-law to a mother-in-law, whose husband has died, who has no strings attached. She might have thought, what would this old lady do without me and she decided to stay back with her. Ruth:2:11-12 Boaz testifies that too.
How many of us are as pro-poor as Ruth? As pro-helpless as she is? Do we want to come out of our comfort zones to help others out? At least do we take an effort to pray for those in need, genuinely? We need to step out of our comfort zones, from our selfishness, from me-and-my-kingdom thing.
The kingdom of God was always for the poor and needy, weak and heavy laden. Jesus too was selfless. He could have enjoyed in His self indulgence and the fellowship of the Father and the Holy Spirit. But He chose to come down to save poor and weak and heavy laden like me.
Let us shed that skin of self love that we are so much filled with. Let us clothe ourselves with the selfess love of Christ and be an example to others reflecting Christ. Without Christ's love also we can do good social work but that is again self pointing. By showing the love of Christ, let us point to Christ Himself.

ReplyDelete🙏 true ,we can reflect Christ's love only if we are selfless
ReplyDeleteIn world counselling they say to be Sucessful you need to come out of your comfort zone. Biblically are We willing to come out out of the comfort zone when everything is going good for us. We should open our hearts to listen not only at times trouble but also during favourable times in our lives
ReplyDeleteYes vinoicha. We are so preoccupied with ourselves that we fail to think of others around us
