Happily give away


She can have a son to carry in the family name of her dead husband.  Ruth:4:10b
This is in accordance with the commandment given to Israel in Deutr:25:5-10

And when his brother marries his wife, the son that is born to them will carry on the name of the dead husband not the brother. So as tradition, children born to Boaz and Ruth will be known to carry the name of Mahlon, not Boaz.
But later on never do we see Obed as the child of Mahlon. In Ruth Ch 4, Matthew Ch 1 and in Luke Ch 3, it is written as Obed son of Boaz.
Though it was true traditionally, in God's eyes things were different. Through this act of kindness, act of wilfull giving away, God had destined Boaz to be the great great grandfather of David. And in a way be part of the lineage of Jesus Himself.
In the world's eyes you might be a loser. But in God's eyes when you give priority to His commands you will be honoured by Him.

Are you not walking like mere men? 1 Cor:3:3 Why are you mere men, when you have the mind of Christ? Why are you running for the things of this world, when you have the mind of Christ? Why jealousy and envy, when you have the mind of Christ? Why the strife and unrest, when you have the mind of Christ? Why the faithlessness and unfaithfulness, when you have the mind of Christ? Mere men run around material things. Mere men look for earthly satisfaction. Mere men have shortsightedness rather than eternal heavenly perspective. Mere men think of finite goals. Yet you have the mind of Christ. Invest in the word of God and not fleshly motives. Invest in unceasing prayer. Invest in trusting and holding fast to Him. Not like mere men who have temporary goals. He who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law. Rom:13:8 Love is the core of everything. He who loves his neighbour will not do him/her any harm. No adultery  No murder. No stealing. No coveting. All of the law is summed up in this. The good Samaritan's story tells us whom to love and to what extend to love. Prayer:  Father God, help me to love as you have loved me. Alien I was to you, but you still loved me. Rebel as I was, you loved me still. Help me to love others with no conditions. So that I would be able to forgive; so that I would be able to be a slave to them selflessly. You said you have come not to be served. But to serve. Let servitude be my word too. Let it be....

Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? 1 Cor:6:7 Not that you would be wronged or defrauded. But it doesn't matter when you are wronged. Let it be. Let you be wronged. Let yourself be snatched from. Let yourself be misunderstood. Let you be blamed wrong. When you are affected, when it happens to you, that is self being dented. When others cheat you, if you are hurt then that is ego. You think, people think of you what you are actually not, why do you get affected. What does it cost you if others have a wrong opinion about you?  Where is the attitude of Christ? Who was fully misunderstood, fully blamed wrongly.  If I am sure of my identity in Christ i would never feel bad. He never misunderstands me. He never judges me. He knows me in and out. It is only His opinion that matters. Then let others wrong me. Christ took the freedom to let me go through this. Transformed

Transformed by the renewing of your mind. Rom:12:2 Many strive to be good. Being good to the society out of obligation or out of selfish interests. But those are all not being good, it is doing or showing good. For inherantly the heart is deceitful. True change has to come from within. If I am showing goodness to someone out of anything apart from love, that's showing, not being. True transformation has to happen by the renewing of mind - a change of mindset. That only the Holy Spirit can do. Here the transformation desired by God is even bigger. The transformation told here is not to be a better human. It is into the likeness of the Son. God's good and acceptable and perfect will is not that you would be a good man or woman, but to be like the Son. By a total change in approach of your mind. Sanctified

Sanctified in Christ Jesus.  1 Cor:1:2 Sanctified means made pure. Free from sin. Set apart. It is not just a declaration where God sees you as pure despite your filth. It is not a blind eye to your sin.  It is purified by the spotless blood of Jesus. Who paid the penalty of my sin. No amount of good deeds can purify you and earn you this purity  Former New York Mayor after shelling out his own 50M $ for gun control said I am going straight to heaven. People requote it, like it, share it again and retweet it.Thinking he is right. Sad to say, he is absolutely wrong. The only way to heaven is not your good deeds. Even if you spend 50M$. You can't buy your ticket to heaven.  But only if you believe Jesus is God. And He came down to save you.
