Abraham's servant prayed the way he knew to to relate to God. He might have seen his master's relation to this God. Now he is in a challenging situation between his master's wish and reality. How is he supposed to find his master's brother's family in this vast world. He doesn't have an idea as to how to go about. So he prays the way he knows.
Gen:24:15 Before he finished praying.....
Many a times people look at how we ask, in order to grant the request. Parents often tell children to ask in a polite way. Officials are very meticulous that we fashion a request letter in the correct way in order to get things done. Even if there is a small mistake in the details entered or even an overwriting in the application form, they are often rejected.
But here is a God who respects Eliezer's faith. Eliezer prays the way he knows and God grants it exactly the same way he asks.
Whatever stage of faith you are in, God is not bored to listen to your prayer. You are encouraged to pray the way you know. As to your father. The requests you made to your father as a 7 year old is different from those which you made as a 25 year old. And the way you ask too has been different. You have gained maturity and freedom in that relation. Similarly as you mature in your relation with your God, the Spirit moulds your requests. Rom:8:26-27
And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ
Phil 4:19
Just ask
