Abraham did the same mistake to Egypian Pharoah (Gen 12) and to King Abimelech (Gen 20).
Not learning from your previous experiences is the characteristic of a fool.
Pro:26:11As a dog returns to its vomit
So a fool repeats his foolishness.
Then he continues to say. There is more hope for fools, than for people who think they are wise.
Being a fool is no issue. But thinking you are wise when you are not, is utter foolishness. Thinking I'll be able to overcome it, (I will not sin beyond that point) and then exposing yourselves to temptations, is like that fool who thinks he is wise and then repeats his foolishness. Whereas when you admit that you are helpless, that you are a fool and you take every measure to run away, to resist, then you are wise.
Dare I call Abraham a fool, but he was unwise. He was thinking he was wise, when he planned for himself and he does the same pretension and lying again. Why?
In order to save his own life.
God ultimately transformed all this for good. For Abraham, for Sara, for Pharoah, for Abimelech. But let us learn from his mistake....
Admitting Lord that I am weak and unable .Help me Jesus 🙏
