Finish


Finishing is better than starting   Eccl:7:8

To start enthusiastically something is challenging. But motivational and encouraging. It involves courage and boldness. It is emulatable. But many of these enthusiasts who start well do not have the patience to finish it off. Plan well ahead to finish things off well too. Set aside all your pride and trust in the everpresent help. 
Phil:1:6 He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of coming of Christ Jesus. 
Yes it is said about establishing your faith in your heart. It also touches upon God's plans for you. Finding out God's plans for you is the key to starting well and finishing well. Those are the plans to prosper you and not to harm you. 

Do you get bored of His good and perfect will for you? Do you stop doing the things that you have been called to do because you don't feel like doing it? Have you lost interest in the things which you were sure once, that God had asked you to do? It might look insignificant like cleaning or arranging the chairs before the meeting or inviting people or praying for others (which no one would notice or acknowledge). 
Consistency is the key to finish well. 
Discipline is the mantra. 
Determination is what is needed. 
Self control is mandatory. 

If you lack any of these (almost all of them I lack) pray that He would teach you. He would enable. 
Luke:9:62 No one who puts his hand on the plow and looks back is fit for the Kingdom of God. 
Such is the harsh words of Jesus. 
What is it that God convinced you to do 5 or 2 years back? Are you consistently doing it now? Or have you wavered from the path? 
The Lord asks us to be consistent. To finish the race well. You might not be as swift or as effective as your brother, nor as eloquent as your sister. But the Lord loves an undistracted heart which only looks at the Father's heart, wanting to do what He wants. To be consistent. To finish well. 
May the Lord strengthen.

Be a man.

1 Cor:16:13 Be on the alert, stand firm in faith; act like men; be strong. Watch out. Look out. Be on the alert. Stand firm in faith. That is what men do. Be strong. Stay strong. Dwindling in your trust in God is what children do. Act like the man you are. Be a man. Stay strong on your faith. No matter what happens, hold fast to your God. That is mature faith. Do not let go to fear or anxiety. Be strong. Faith is trusting God, the Father despite what the circumstances look like. Knowing fully that He is in control. That He will take care and thats enough. Eph:2:1-9 Dead. Dead in our transgressions and sins. Disobedient. Gratifying the cravings of the sinful nature. Under the ruler of the kingdom of air. Made alive. Until Christ be formed in you. Gal:4:19 That was the sole desire of Paul regarding the Galatians. That Christ be formed in them. Infact that is God's desire in your life. That Christ be formed in you completely. Formed fully in you. That you be transformed into the likeness of Christ Jesus. To purge out all evil. Stumbling block

Eph:4:2-3 How do I live my life worthy of my calling? - be completely humble. What is there to be proud? When you remember from where you have been saved. Knowing that whatever you have is a gift, that you do not deserve. Knowing that you are an inherent rebel, a wretch, saved by Grace. - gentle. Gentleness comes out of humility. Arrogance and rudeness comes out of pride. Moses was meek enough to write that he was the meekest man ever lived on earth. - patient. Impatience again comes out of a feeling that you are somebody, which you are not. Patience accomodates because of love. Eph:3:20 Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us. If this is true, then why do I live a life full of concerns and fears about the uncertainties of the future. Of the things which are out of my control. He has got it under control, because He has created it. Then worry is disrespectful. Because He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power. Holy Spirit

Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession. Eph:1:13-14 The process starts with belief. Once you believe, you are marked ( infact you were marked - past tense. That in itself is another writing). Marked with a seal ie. the promised Holy Spirit. Seal is something which denotes ownership or belonging. The Lord's possession are we (v:14). His precious property. He has put His seal of affirmation upon us, so that the devil cannot lay claim. The presence of the Holy Spirit in your life is the evidence , the guarantee that you belong to Him.
