The sin offering had two portions - one, the chosen fat which are to be burnt on the altar inside the tabernacle. The other portion, whatever is left behind, the hide, the meat, head, legs, internal organs and dung were to be carried outside the camp and burnt along with the ashes.
In our Christian life, what it signifies is an amazing truth.
Heb:13:12 says - So also Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates to make his people holy by means of His own blood.
That place outside the city gates was a place of disgrace. A place of dishonour.
Jesus chose to be there because of his love to you and me. Jesus chose to be disgrace. Chose ignominy.
Such is the love of God for you dear one. He who knew no sin, became sin for us. What more could be done? What more to demonstrate his love for you. Do not keep you eyes shut. Do not deliberately close your eyes.
The everlasting Love towards us, Amen
ReplyDeleteDisgrace was not significant for him considering theblove for us
