Lev:7:28-38
When the people of Israel presents a peace offering to the Lord, they were suggested to bring a part of it as a gift to the Lord. The fat is to be burnt on the altar. The breast and the right thigh belonged to the priests.
The Lord says, He has reserved (v:34), it is the permanent right (v:34) and it is their rightful share (v:35).
The choicest and the best piece belonged to servants of the Lord.
In Malachi, the last book of OT, however the rebellion of Israel has reached its pinnacle.
Mal:1:7 - you have shown contempt by offering defiled sacrifices on my altar.
V:8 blind animals, crippled, diseased animals were offered.
The Lord desires to close the temple doors for the sake of worthless sacrifices. He asks a question to them, "Should I accept from you such offerings as these?"
In return Mal:2:2 - I will bring a terrible curse on you. I will curse even the blessings you receive.
The choicest piece has turned out to be a curse.
V:8 your priests have left God's path
V:9 So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all people.
But God is magnanimous and gracious to give another chance. He is merciful.
Mal:3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in the temple. I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in.
Restoration to abundance again.
It is not the temple being filled with treasures or riches or food or sacrificial blood that pleases God; but what lies within your heart that God looks into.
# To make God the numero uno in your life
# That you are mindful of Him
# That you be a man after His own heart
Then God will take care of all your needs
Matt:6:33 Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And all these things shall be added unto you.
Even more than numero uno, He should be centre of every area of our lives!
