We continue to ponder upon the unintentionally committed sin.
If the entire Israel community sinned against the Lord, but doesn't realize it, they were still considered guilty of it.
Doing some wrong unknowingly or unintentionally is considered a less vice in our system.
A juvenile committing a crime has lesser consequences.
Inadvertance is a common excuse that we make when we hurt some one. Isn't it?
But when we read Lev:4:12-21 we realize that it is not an excuse for God at all. Whatever explanation you make before Him, a sin is a sin is a sin is a sin. He is serious about it and has been meticulous in describing the remedy
Do I rationalize myself?
Do I bring in an alibi?
Is excuse my first response when I confront with my sin? Or immediate repentance?
God serious about sin is not just in OT. But for eternity too. And that is the significance of the cross.
The price is already paid. What is your response?
