The burnt offering had few highlights
🔹Take it from your herd or your flock.
🔹No defects.
🔹The Lord will accept its death in your place.
🔹The whole animal is offered as an offering.
🔹The entire sacrifice is a pleasing aroma to God.
Jesus is the perfect burnt offering as an atonement for our sins.
How?
Taking from your herd - has two implications. That Jesus was fully man. He is part of our herd.
Secondly the cattle has to be from your herd. Not another's. Unless the sacrifice becomes your personal thing it is of no use to you.
No defects - The lamb has to be absolutely blemishless, with no defects.
1 Pet: 1:19 Christ the sinless spotless Lamb of God
2Cor:5:21 He who knew no sin, became sin for us.
The Lord will accept its death in your place -. To purify you. Making you right with Him.
Rom:3:25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood
The whole animal is offered. Christ's sacrifice was full and enough for the atonement of sin.
Pleasing aroma - Eph:5:2 offered himself as sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
Christ's sacrifice is the complete burnt offering.
Thank you Lord! for that complete sacrifice enough for my cleansing of my sins once for all..
