Isa:54:9
Just as I swore in the time of Noah
That I would never again let a flood cover the earth
So now I swear
That I will never again be angry and punish you.
At the time of Noah, there was a covenant. Never again will the flood destroy the earth and all its living creatures. And the sign for that covenant promise still adorns the sky.
The rainbow - He said my rainbow (Rev:4:3)
Even as the rainbow arches over the sky, every time it's a reminder that God will stay true to His promise. A promise that judgement will not happen for the entire human race through flood.
Gen:8:21 God said to Himself, I will never again curse the ground because of human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.
Gen:9:11 Never again will flood waters kill all living creatures; never again will a flood destroy the earth.
Similarly- I will never again be angry and punish you. Punishment has been dealt with totally. Eternal damnation is over. Why?
Because I have dealt with it on the cross. Because I have taken it upon myself.
Years down the line, God has kept His first promise. So this promise also holds true. (In future we will see, those who are His, are saved from eternal damnation, through the blood of the blemishless lamb)
Rom:8:1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
It is a promise for those who belong to Christ. If you have said yes to the Lord. If you have committed to live for Him. If you recognize the sacrifice He paid on the cross and if you believe it is for you He died. Then you are His. And this promise is for you. And He is always true.
