Everything restored


2Kings:8:6. So he directed one of his officials to see that everything she had lost was restored to her, including the value of any crops that had been harvested during her absence.

What an amazing God we serve? Who restores whatever we have lost. Even the produce of the land while she wasn't even there. And all of these, why? Because she did something extra ordinary for the country? Why was it that she was able to find favour in the king's eyes? Not because of any good in her. But because of the testifications by Gehazi to the king that her son was raised up from the dead.
Gehazi the leper was talking to the king about the miracles that Elisha has done. Exactly the time when he was talking about the Shunemite woman, she comes in to ask the king.... I'm enthralled at the timing.
Remember, the king of Israel is not a very good king. Why on earth should he ask about Elisha who he was trying to kill sometime back.
Gehazi because of his greed has just been punished with leprosy forever.
Perfect timing when she comes back from the land of Philistines to settle back in Israel.
I was thinking of why was it that she was blessed with God's favour? All because she took that initial step for doing something for the Kingdom of God by hosting Elisha. Proactively she desired and her husband and she did what they desired  and that too without expecting anything back from God.
God is no one's debtor.

Luke:6:38 Give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.

So dear one, give to God what you can give right now. Time, energy, passion, desire, ambition, choices, money career, children, possessions, assets. Give it all for His name's glory. Oh! You can be sure you will receive back - pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over. Yes dear one, and give without expecting to get back. When you give do not be apprehensive or skeptical. Would I miss on something? My peers - the adequacy and luxury they have. No, our God is able to restore dear ones, out of His immeasurable riches, he will pour out.

Joel:2:25 The Lord says, "I will give back to you what you lost".
Oh!dear one, if the Lord is on your side, who can be against you. 1Pet:5:10 Yes our sufferings are for a little while. He is our father. He will restore. He is our Abba. So rich in love and mercy. He looks with favour.

Barnabas, the word means son of encouragement. His quality of encouragement is seen in bringing up of Paul. The Seven

Acts:6:1-7 The seven men were selected for distributing food for the widows. But these seven were chosen as those who were well reported and full of the Spirit and wisdom. Such a menial job, but such high qualification. One of them, Stephen, has been described as man full of faith and the Holy Spirit. No job is menial. You might be the church choir leader or the one who preaches. Or you might be the least important person in the choir. Or you might be the one who wipes clean the chairs. In God's eyes both are the same, whether you do it faithfully and with thankfulness - that is what matters. That makes it even more significant. Each job has its own value. Each job entrusted to you is important. Whether you are a student or a teacher, a doctor or an engineer or a daily wages worker, do it as if you are doing it for God. It has to be impeccable. Forgiveness is the first step

Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch. Acts:14:21. In Lystra, they were stoned and dragged out of the city. To Lystra they come back to strengthen and encourage.  What a commitment?  What love to the people of Lystra? What surity of their calling? They both go back to the very place that tortured them. To the very place they suffered. We would never go back to the very place! Scared? Hatred? Indignation? What if God asks you to go back? Would you give excuses?  Would you still love the person, who stood against you? Would you hate or love him/her? If you understand the truth that, calling is unto a person not to a place, nor unto people, then it becomes easy to forgive. Forgiveness is something which needs grace, much grace. If God could forgive me yet again, how much should I? Accomplished. Satisfied.

After David had done the will of God in his own generation, he died and was buried. Acts:13:36. David was given a job to do. And He did well. You are dearly loved by God and He has a wonderful plan for you. When your name is called, will you stand before the righteous Judge and hear the testimony, that really matters, "Well done, good and faithful servant."  What is your long term and short term desire? Your short term plans need to be based on your long term desire. Not materialistic or career based. Regarding the Kingdom of God, what has been your timeline? How do you plan further? Which subspeciality is your focus? Teaching, apologetic, discipling, counselling, teens, adults, children, organisation, devotions, families? Have you sat and thought about it? Calm

Those who beat him and dragged him out of the city, how does Paul address them? Acts:22:1. Brothers and esteemed fathers.... He calmly addresses them, who hates him, who want him killed. No defending. Not justifying. Not perturbed. Just calmness, overflowing love. How could he do that? He knows how much Jesus loves him who persecuted His children, that same love He has for these people, that same love He also ought to have. Paul is not selfish to protect himself. He is ready to die now in this city as prophesied by Agabus. But he is passionate of his Saviour. He is passionate to tell these people how to be saved. Acts:8:4-25 Simon thought, he could be a part of this by paying. Though it is said that he believed and was baptized. What is the tip to crack this code? Some people have figured it out. I am still struggling. Some people have seemed to crack it. Some people have got the joy and peace that is being offered. But still I seem to wander around searching aimlessly. How do I get it? Simon wanted to buy this by money. How do you want to attain it? By attending certain meetings, do you think there will be a short cut to deliverance? Meetings are good, if you meet up with God. Relationship with Him is the priority there, not acquiring "blessings" from Him. That is God's doing, if He does it- good. But what is your heart's desire, when you want to attend such a meeting?
