Be responsible

There was havoc in Judah at that time. As King Ahaziah was killed and Queen Athalia takes over. Nobody was there to guide.
Jehosheba takes up responsibility as she protects the infant Joash, the next king.
Jehoiada also owns up and arranged for the anointing of Joash. He instructs the boy as he grows up in the law of the Lord. Jehoiada also makes a covenant between God and people and also between the king and the people. He also took initiative to destroy the temple and the altars of Baal.

Own up, be responsible for your plight or the plight of your area, your land, your nation. Do whatever you can to bring people up. At least pray for them. Who knows you are placed in such a place as this for this.

Promise keeper

You always fulfill your covenant and keep your promises of unfailing love to those who love you and obey your commands  Dan:9:4 He is the promise keeper What does He promise?  Not blessings as we intend But His unfailing love His everlasting presence His promise to never leave or forsake you He is with us in this And He is true. He is faithful He is not a liar to disbelieve.  If He says He will do.  Image credit;  https://www.salesforce.com/au/blog/how-to-keep-your-customer-promise-in-the-digital-evolution/

Am I not better than ten sons?

Am I not better than ten sons? - Elkanah's words of comfort to his wife Hannah. This note is to the husbands and to be husbands. (Wives need not read today 😉) What an amazing example? In this world where we love our profession, our career, our friends, our hangouts, our desires and dreams and ambitions more than our wives. We need to understand the essence of Christian marriage.  God created woman out of man's rib - so that he would love her as his own. Close from the heart - to love her Beneath his arm - to care for her and protect her. God created woman as a helper to man. Now this is something which is often misinterpreted. Where man demands woman to do everything for his comforts quoting woman is created for man and not vice versa. But the truth is, the helper is instituted because, we need help. She is not our subordinate to be trampled upon. She is not inferior to be made to do all the work. Infact we are inferior, because we can't live without help. Can

Point Nemo - A poem

Oh! I feel powerless When I look upon the huge mountain before me When I see my enemy face to face Terrified; filled with fear Hopeless; how will I face this?  My wisdom will not surpass this My strength will not overpower  I waste away thinking of the pit I'm in My bones ache; my joints groan I'm sick to the core.  Every part of my body drags me along.  But then I will remember my Redeemer Who rescues me from all the powers of the enemy The One who is in me is more powerful  Than the one who is in the world.  Those with me are more than Those on the enemy's side.  He reminds me that the enemy is already defeated his head has already been crushed The victory is already yours And the battle is His.  And if God is on my side Who can be against me?  Do not worry. Do not be afraid For I am with you till the end of days Trust in God. Trust also in me Says Jesus who saved you from eternal hell Is anything too hard for Me?  Oh! Now I feel like Chris Brown.  And Point N

Might

Hos:1:7 But I will show love to the people of Judah. I will free them from their enemies, not with weapons and armies or horses and charioteers. But by my power as the Lord their God.  As long as the Lord is for you, dear one, you can be sure that He will free you. As long as His love is there for you, be assured that He will deliver. And His love never fails. His love is unfailing for He is faithful.  The enemies daggers and schemes might seem heavy and huge. The horses and chariots might spit rages of fire. But He will deliver with His might. Those with you is more numerous than those with them. The Almighty all powerful triune God is enough. Then who can be against you. Who can stand against you.  Whatever plight you are in right now, dear one. Nothing is too heavy for Him. Nothing is big enough for Him that He can't deliver.  Isa:59:1 The Lord's arm is not too weak to save you. Nor is His ear too deaf to hear you call.  Image credit:  https://www.dreamstime.com/

Why hardships?

Hos:6:1 Come let us return to the Lord He has torn us to pieces Now He will heal us He has injured us Now He will bandage our wounds.  The Lord in His Sovereignty has allowed hardships. Not that He tempts you. But He allows these troubles come by, so that your faith is tested, your endurance will grow.  But also remember, as He allows these wounds, He will bandage us and heal us. He takes the initiative to touch us and relieve us and restore us. Like Job, let us also testify - for though He wounds; He also bandages. He strikes, but His hands also heal (5:18)  But why does He do this cycle? Why wound and then heal? Why tear and then mend yet again? Rather than the expected easy way of protection right throughout?  The answer is in v:3 - Oh that we might know the Lord. Let us press on to know Him. Difficulties are means to know God more. Know Him personally in depth. His character. His being.  Without hardships, there is no helplessness and without helplessness there is no fa

I asked like Job. But get a different answer! - a prose

Dan:12:10 Many will be purified, cleansed and refined by these trials.  Oh! Why these trials keep coming back?  Why these struggles keep finding me?  Why does a good God allow pain?  And tears and loneliness and sleepless nights And lost appetite and sickness and helplessness Why should trials be part of anyone's life?  Why should they torment me?  Wasn't life better off without those fangs That pierce deep into my flesh Tearing me apart, leaving me wounded and crying Yet not taking my life from me Dragging me along. Why should I carry the burden? Life seems light for others. But for me it's heavy I kept asking him questions.  One day He finally answered Sin has marred your character I had created you pure and blemishless But the born nature and your own choices Distorted and crippled and contorted you Yet, I want you back the way I created you For which you need to be refined Impurities can be removed and cleansed  Only by letting you go through fire Yes, it

Speak

Micaiah was a prophet at the time of King Ahab. When he was called to prophesy, the one statement that he commits himself to, challenged me. "I will say only what the Lord tells me to say." For which he has made the king angry. For which he is imprisoned. For which he is unsure of his release even. But one thing he is sure. " I will say only what the Lord tells me to say." Well I am not a preacher to vow like that, is it? Mal:3:16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other and the Lord listened to what they said. What you say, what you speak with your friends, the Lord is carefully (as in Malayalam translation) listening. God would tell, come on, Amith is speaking something, let us listen to what he is talking. Will He be ashamed before the angels because of what I talk or would He be proud of me? Would He want to listen again the next time, calling others as well? Would He find me good and faithful? Be sure of what you talk.
