There is hope


1Kings:16:30 But Ahab, son of Omri did what was evil in the Lord's sight, even more than any of the kings before him.

1Kings:21:25 No one else so completely sold himself to what was evil in the Lord's sight as Ahab did under the influence of his wife Jezebel.

Is there hope for such a man as Ahab? But when Elijah pointed out, what he did to Naboth was wrong, Ahab tore his clothing, dressed and slet in burlap, fasted and went into deep mourning.
See what God had to say finally about him to Elijah.
1Kings:21:29 Do you see how Ahab has humbled Himself before me?

I do not know whether Ahab was reinstated before God. But the fact that he humbled Himself and repented, is true and because of that there is hope for him.
Ah! There is hope for a man as worse as Ahab, brings in hope for me as well. Not that I am less; as I am in my heart, as worse as him. Yet there is hope, if I repent.
Hope to be reinstated for the very purpose I am created, though I had rebelled and walked away.
Hope to be guided by His presence, for without Him, I can do nothing.
Hope to be with Him for eternity, because that is what He aspires of me. He is mindful of me.
Ahab has hope.
So have I.

Even the worst of the sins, that haunt me, that I am ashamed to even think. Might not be the ones which I willfully did, but those which I was forced to, helplessly succumbing.
Ahab has hope 
So have I.

Repent and return. Repent and come to the fountain of life. Is He not just waiting? He was waiting for Ahab. He was never done, with Ahab. Kept on nudging him, through Elijah, again and again, giving him opportunity. And finally as he deeply mourned Oh! The relief in God's heart is so explicitly described there. But never do we see, God pushing Elijah to deal with Jezebel. He knew  she wouldn't budge. Jesus went on talking to Pilate at the trial. But before Herod He kept quiet.
How does God deal with me? Will He keep on nudging me? Or will He just leave me alone?
Will I listen to His voice and return? That is how the still small voice becomes a louder reality in our lives. But if do not listen; if I do not repent, I might end up being a Jezebel or Herod.

Even to the last moment there is hope.

Generation gap

A message for children.  Pro:1:8 My child listen when your father corrects you Don't neglect your mother's instruction Generation gap.  A terminology we snuggly fit in to ease the discomfort in a difficult relationship between a father and a son or a mother and a daughter. Children say they are older generation. They don't understand the present scenario. They don't understand our needs. Their advises are all old fashioned. Not fitting into the present world.  Little do they understand that their parents also might have felt the similar way about their parents only to realise the value of their parent's admonitions later on in their lives as adults. That parents have the wisdom of life. Moreover if godly parents, they being directed by God the Eternal Father, it is indeed wise to accept their advice. Trust

He is close to those who trust in Him. Nah:1:7 Oh! When you feel all alone in this dark world. When you feel you don't have anyone to lean on to. There is one person who promised to be with you, always, to the end of days. He has promised to never leave or forsake you. All we have to do is to just trust in Him. He is true. He will never fail. Even if heaven and earth will fail, His word will always remain.  He is faithful. What are we supposed to do Lord?

Micah 6 V:3 What have I done to you?  What have I done to make you tired of me?  V:5 Don't you remember, my people?  When I the Lord did everything I could To teach you about my faithfulness.  V:6 What can we bring to the Lord?  What kind of offerings should we give Him?  V:8 This is what He requires of you.  To do what is right, to love mercy And to walk humbly with your God.  This is the only thing you're supposed to do Oh! bard. Only thing He requires of you. Not to accomplish great things for Him. Not to conquer nations for Him. If that is your calling, well yes, do it. But more important for Him is this. Very simple thing He expects of you.  To do what is right. According to His heart. According to His standards.  To love mercy. Delight

Ps:147:11 The Lord's delight is in those who fear Him If you delight in Him, He will delight in you. Oh! Is it like tit for tat?  No dear bard! He has already delighted in you. He has loved you while you were still His enemies. You are mine He declares. You are His signet ring, He proclaims.  Not because you fear Him. Not because He foreknew you would fear Him. But because He loves. Hosea was asked to marry a harlot and he continued to love her despite her unfaithfulness. Just like He continues to delight in you oh! When you don't have anything else to do......

In the fish's belly Jonah was there for three days and three nights. In that dark place, he could only look to God. He could not run away, which he was so specialized in. He couldn't do anything else which he was an expert. He couldn't do anything he wanted to desperately do. All he could do was to sit in God's presence.  Sometimes God places you in circumstances where you can only pray. You can do nothing else. And at that time, please pray. Do not try to do anything else. Even if you do not feel like praying, that is the time when you are supposed to. Helpless as you are, you can open up to your Father. Words do not matter at that time. The Holy Temple

Micah:1:5 Where is the center of idolatory on Judah?  In Jerusalem; it's capital.  The very place which was supposed to be kept sacred and holy, has now been defiled and become the very center of desecration. Fully polluted and corrupted. Why should He not be wrathful?  The heart of holiness; which was supposed to be the throne of the most High God with all His richness and glory has been befouled and debased.  The very heart dear bard - which is supposed to be the temple of the most Holy God, what all do you entertain? Confines the king to a corner in your quiet times and church and bible study. As if you give charity and satisfy Him and then you do whatever you want, the rest of the time.  You think you can fool around with His holiness? This is one chant that goes up in heaven for eternity - Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty. Oh! Don't nullify it with your fancies.  He is serious about His holiness.
