This is the transliteration of a Malayalam proverb which simply means, willfully shew away from responsibility. Though I am supposed to own up and do something, I deliberately close my eyes and may be pretend I am sleeping and evade from something.
Ahab was just like that. He and his wife Jezebel was full of sin. Bowing down before Baal and Asherah pole, making Israel also to sin, refusing to obey the commands of the Lord. Many were his sins. But he decides to close his eyes and then put the blame on Elijah who had prophesied the word of God. He calls him, the troublemaker of Israel. Whereas he himself was the exact troublemaker, rightfully called by Elijah
Do I shun away from the consequences of my action and words? Put the blame on others or justify my deeds? It's foolish. Unless we own up, how will we rectify? Putting the blame on others is immature. Where as owning up is the first step for a solution. Repent of your ways. Make your path right with God. May be others are also involved. That God will take care. Settle your ways with God. Atleast your relation with God will be reinstated and you would be at peace with Him. (Infact that is exactly what God wants)
Amen
