Purpose of difficulties in life


       Why did God allow this in my life?
       I have been faithful. Then why me?
Why do tests or difficult situations come in our lives? Why does God allow it?
Our minds are filled with many questions when we face many trials. When life takes an unexpected turn. When all you expected was a smooth road to tarry, life welcomes you with bumps and ditches and rocky terrain. Why does God allow trials?
Israel also had a similar question.
The Lord has called us from Egypt.
Why the wilderness?
Why Marah?
Why the Red sea?
Why no bread? Why no meat? Why no water?
So many questions.
One answer. Deutr:8:2 "this humbling you testing you to prove your character"

James:1:2 When troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

When we had fallen, we had been marred in everyway. Especially in our faith and trust. Because of lack of trust only, Adam and Eve sinned in the first place. And now how do we develop this attribute which was lost?
Faith is grace agreed. But you have let yourself go through many resilience for this attribute to grow. Just like hitting the gym, develops your muscles. There is no easy way but to go through difficult circumstances that you grow in faith. God knows that. And that's why He allows.

Deutr:8:3 He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone, rather we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
He wants you to trust in His word.

He is able, more than able
To accomplish what concerns me today
He is able, more than able
To handle anything that comes my way
He is able more than able
To do much more than I could ever dream
He is able more than able
To make me what He wants me to be.

He wants me to trust that He is able, when I go through difficulties.
No loving father would discipline his child with fiersome anger, wanting to torture. But he wants him to learn something through that process. And the solution for it also would be handy. And when the child acknowledges or learns, the solution is provided.
While disciplining, the Lord made sure that their clothes didn't wear out and feet didn't blister or swell. The Lord is in control. No matter what situation you are in. The Lord will provide.
The water will come
The mannah too.   In His time

So when we face difficulties in our lives - remember it's a time to strengthen your spiritual muscles. Believe that the Lord is in control.

    Yes...v true. Amen. God does allow sufferings bcz of our sins or bcz of others' to ultimately strengthen our faith.

      My opinion is the punishment of our sins have been greatly dealt with on the cross. If our sufferings are because of our sins, then we will have only time to suffer. I totally agree though that generally sufferings and sicknesses are in the world as a result of general sinfulness. But not because of any particular sin. Correct me if I'm wrong

      1peter 2:19,20 and 4:15...says about suffering for doing good or by being treated unjustly And for doing evil.

Be a man.

1 Cor:16:13 Be on the alert, stand firm in faith; act like men; be strong. Watch out. Look out. Be on the alert. Stand firm in faith. That is what men do. Be strong. Stay strong. Dwindling in your trust in God is what children do. Act like the man you are. Be a man. Stay strong on your faith. No matter what happens, hold fast to your God. That is mature faith. Do not let go to fear or anxiety. Be strong. Faith is trusting God, the Father despite what the circumstances look like. Knowing fully that He is in control. That He will take care and thats enough. Until Christ be formed in you. Gal:4:19 That was the sole desire of Paul regarding the Galatians. That Christ be formed in them. Infact that is God's desire in your life. That Christ be formed in you completely. Formed fully in you. That you be transformed into the likeness of Christ Jesus. To purge out all evil. Holy Spirit

Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession. Eph:1:13-14 The process starts with belief. Once you believe, you are marked ( infact you were marked - past tense. That in itself is another writing). Marked with a seal ie. the promised Holy Spirit. Seal is something which denotes ownership or belonging. The Lord's possession are we (v:14). His precious property. He has put His seal of affirmation upon us, so that the devil cannot lay claim. The presence of the Holy Spirit in your life is the evidence , the guarantee that you belong to Him. Is the Holy Spirit active in your life? Are you receptive and responsive to the nudgings of the third person of Trinity? The Holy Spirit of God. Made known

Eph:1:9 He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Christ. He is not a stingy God, that He would want us to force open His closed fist and find out what He has hidden from us. But His will, He is willing to reveal to us according to His good pleasure, that He purposed through Jesus Christ. A loving Father, willing to reveal His mysterious will, out of His love to one rebellious son. The son is still rebellious, but the Father is willing. The Father's love allures, but the son is still allieanated. But still the Father is willing to reveal. Not forced out of compulsion. Not forced out of obligation. But forced out of love to the rebellious son. Fully out of good pleasure. Which father would do that, but for the unending eternal source of love. He is love. That is why He is able to do it.
