No sin goes unpunished

I have wondered why God had punished the Israelites alone for the sin they committed in Num:25. After all it was the Midianites who seduced them to sin, and why did they go unpunished. Does God punish only Israelites because they are chosen people?
We often tell this to our children _ we discipline or punish because we love you.
But we need to understand this aspect of God - That He is Sovereign. He loves us all and No sin goes unpunished.
His justice reigns over all.
We see the punishment to the Midianites who allured the Israelites to worship baal of Peor in Num:31
The Lord is Sovereign - He possesses all authority and supreme power. And sin is something which He abhors. Out of His sovereign power He will judge sin in everyone's life.
Sometimes I think others are not being punished or disciplined the way I am. Children always compare between themselves regarding disciplining. But the Lord will never let any sin go unpunished.

"Sinners will have no place among the godly"
Sin is something he hates. It's so serious for Him, that He had to come and die on the cross to save us from eternal punishment. Such is the amount of love he have for each of us.
Sin was not something He could compromise.
Sin was not something He would overlook.
It had to be dealt with.
It had to be punished.
We out of our sinfulness were destined for eternal hell seperated from the ultimate source of life for eternity.

"But God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life.
God sent His Son not to judge the world but to save the world through Him"
John:3:16-17

Time is coming when He would come again. That time to judge.
Have you renounced the old way of sin and believed in Him who paid it all?

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin has left its crimson stain
He washed me white as snow - E. M. Hall

Sea of distress

Zech:10:11 They will pass safely through the sea of distress.  Ps:23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of shadow of death I fear no evil For you are with me.  It is the safety in the journey that God assures. There is no guarantee that you wouldn't go through the sea of distress or the valley of shadow of death. But you will travel through it safe. That is a sure promise. You are with me. That is an assurance. Which will never change.  Oh! dear one. Whatever sea of distress, whatever turmoil you are going through, whatever mighty waves are raging around you. The calm assurance that Jesus is on the ship, is something you can rely on. Something which you can cling to. And He is able to calm the storm is a surety. You are not alone in this. He is with you. He will enable you. He will equip you. He will strengthen you. He will give grace to face. He will not leave you alone.  He will complete what He has begun. According to His plan. His good plan. His hopeful and pur

Are you wounded? Are you weak?

Zech:10:12 By my power, I will make my people strong.  This God equips. The hope is that the weak will not always be weak. In a world which teaches, survival of the fittest, God once again proves, He is of a different genre. He enables the weak, strengthens the heavy laden.  We are not talking about physical strength. We are talking about facing the enemy. A fallen angelic being is definitely more powerful than a finite human. This war would soon be over. Human beings will thoroughly be defeated.  And as God intervenes, He could have eradicated the enemy in a second because He is stronger. But as He equips the weaker being to defeat the stronger being, by resisting, by trusting, by hoping, He instils His power to the weaker being. The weaker one trusts and clings on to Him and the victory is won.  In fact the battle has already been won, because it is the Lord's. But your individual fights with the defeated enemy is also yours to be won. And you cannot win it based on y

Pupil of the eye

Zech:2:8 The pupil of the eye is one's most precious possession. All reflexes try to protect the pupil. Pupillary reflex to light is a sign of life. Therefore it is very close to life itself. God says, you are the pupil of His eye. His treasured possession. Very close to His heart. Therefore He will protect you with all His might. That is why He is a protective wall of fire around you. He is a shield around you.  Ps:91:3-6 He will rescue you from every trap And protect you from deadly diseases.  He will cover you with His feathers He will shelter you with His wings His faithful promises are your armour and protection.  Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night Nor the arrow that flies in the day Do not dread the disease that stalks in the darkness Nor the disaster that strikes at midday 10-11 No evil will conquer you No plaque will come near you For He will order His angels To protect you wherever you go.  14-15 The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love me I

Case dismissed

Zech:3:1-3 One name of the enemy is accuser. He keeps on accusing against us to the Eternal Judge. The bard did that. The bard lied. The bard is angry. The bard is selfish. The bard is sinful to the core and corrupted. He is not fit to be inheriting the eternal kingdom. All my sins - private and public, secret and known to everyone, he lays before the Judge everything to accuse me to take me to hell with him. To prove that I am not worthy to be saved, not worthy to be redeemed. He lists all of them.  And do you know what this Eternal Judge, my Father has to tell him - I the Lord reject your accusations, Satan (v:2). Though all his accusations were essentially true, though I do not deserve to be saved or redeemed, though I deserve only eternal hell, my Father, the Eternal Judge proclaims that He rejects all the accusations of the enemy. For the bard has been forgiven, the bard has been loved, the bard has been redeemed by the Precious blood of the Son Jesus Christ.  And He c

Be strong

Hag:2 Be strong - Zerubabbel Be strong - Jeshua Be strong - all you people still left in the land.  My Spirit remains among you, just as I promised.  So do not be afraid.  I will fill this place with glory.  The future glory of this Temple will be greater than it's past glory.  And in this place I will bring peace.  As you rebuild things around you dear one - in your family dear one, in your church, in your own life. Be strong for the Spirit of the Lord is within you. It is His doing to rebuild. Do not be discouragrd. It is with His glory that He is going to fill. Be strong. Do not go down. Cling on to the Master.  There will be disappointmentd and discouragements around that might tend to bring you down. No. Do not give in. Continue to believe in the goodness of God. Continue believe that it is He who is doing. Cling on.  Image credit:  https://stock.adobe.com/in/search?k=strong

Signet ring - a poem

Hag:2:23 I will make you like a signet ring on my finger.  Do i deserve this? Is it because of my accomplishments?  To be privileged to be a signet ring in my God's finger.  "I will honour you. I have chosen you." Why on earth did He choose to do this?  Everything I do is defiled by sin.  Everything I offer is marred by my fallenness I can only think, act and speak filth Still He honours me. He loves me. Why?  Yet ring is of value, because of the person behind it.  The husband loves not the ring, but His beloved.  When he kisses the ring, it is his beloved he kisses.  Yet he does love the ring, more than any other asset of his.  I being the ring, He loves me beyond my worth.  Values me, beyond what I deserve.  From the miry clay, out of His love, He picked me.  Washed and cleansed me and put me close to Himself.  And the One behind all this, is the Son.  Who chose to pay the penalty for my sake.  So that i could be in kingly places.  Though not deserving; He g

Return

Return to me and i will return to you  Zech:1:3 Return.  That is the only way. All other ways are useless. This way of return is the only one that you need to take. Because your destiny is His bosom. You have squandered enough opportunities. When you are asked to come back, when you take the first step, He is not a God, who moves farther away. He is not even someone who stays where He is, waiting for you to reach back. The moment you take the first step to return, He will take His step to come to you. Though He never went away.
