Pebble or Rock ?

“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:32‬ ‭NIV 

 Mary (being a person who treasures everything in her heart) could have many times thought in her mind again and again in the whole lot of Jesus’ life about this. That He would be great and the throne of king David would be given unto Him. Each time it would have been difficult for her to accept the rejection He had to face and finally death on the cross. But at one point of time she would have definitely come to terms with her thought process and finally realise the truth and the very purpose of her son’s coming. She would at one point of time have accepted that He has really come to die for her sins as well and the throne of David which was promised to her child was not of this world at all. But when she realised this truth and the very essence of Jesus’ coming she would have had great peace. 

God’s plans are indeed not of this world my dear one. It is in fact not confined to the realms and strings of this futile world. When He says He has a plan for you, our tendency is to think of temporary things. But He has plans for eternity for you. 

 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭NIV‬‬ 

 Where is our focus? On temporary things of this world or on things which are unseen? Is worldly blessing one sole thing that you seek God for? When was the last time you earnestly prayed for a spiritual reason? Why do you want to know this God or why do you want to be close to Him? Is it so that your things in this earth will be cleanly set? Then your focus is on things that are seen. How ashamed we should be when we realise that we are so so short sited. An unending resource of knowledge of God is awaiting. Here we r so focused on ourselves and our puny pebbles! Where the rock of our salvation is beckoning!!!!!!

    True.. God’s perspective is sooo different from ours. Who could have imagined a King who would wash their feet or cook them a meal of fish.. Success is not what we define it as in the Kingdom of God, is it?

      Yes indeed tina. My kingdom is not of this world, says out master. How much more we his children should be conscious of it.
      And also if we have our eyes set on things here, there our hearts would be also.
      Let's rise above the expectations of this world, the promises it allures us with. Eternal life is something greater, something more, something higher

Trust the process

Thorn in the flesh. To keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me - to keep me from exalting myself. 2 Cor:12:7 Is there something which is a constant pain for you? Something which has not sorted out yet? Something for which you have fasted and prayed but hasn't worked out still?  The pain is still there for a purpose dear one. To keep you from exalting yourself. To keep yourself humble. Know that your Abba is in control. He is Sovereign. He is good. And He will not allow anything beyond what you can endure. He has allowed this with a purpose. So when prayers are still unanswered, rejoice. For God is in control. He has this for a purpose. You might not get the big picture now. But God knows.  Trust the process.

Be a man.

1 Cor:16:13 Be on the alert, stand firm in faith; act like men; be strong. Watch out. Look out. Be on the alert. Stand firm in faith. That is what men do. Be strong. Stay strong. Dwindling in your trust in God is what children do. Act like the man you are. Be a man. Stay strong on your faith. No matter what happens, hold fast to your God. That is mature faith. Do not let go to fear or anxiety. Be strong. Faith is trusting God, the Father despite what the circumstances look like. Knowing fully that He is in control. That He will take care and thats enough. Why do I quickly desert?

I am amazed that you are quickly deserting Him who called you. Gal:1:6 How do I desert Him who called me? By believing in a different gospel! How has your belief changed? Has self sufficiency creeped in; instead of absolute trust? Has materialism barged in; instead of simplicity? Has pride crawled in; instead of humility and self denial? He should increase. Rekindle

Test yourselves to see, if you are in faith, examine yourselves. 2 Cor:13:5 This is something which we need to do repeatedly in our lives. To test our faith; to test the genuineness of our faith. Not about the saving faith we had once. That is not something that you might lose. For it says that, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone and behold the new has come. It also says that; now there is no condemnation for those who are in the Lord Jesus  It says about the earnestness of your faith. Have you grown in your trust in Jesus? Has your love grown cold? Is spending time in His presence a burden and a sense of responsibility rather than an excitement and an emotion? Where is your first love? You cannot lose faith. But you can freeze it and make it dead. Beware. How do you test? Keep checking. Keep reassesing. Take regular introspections, to see whether you are growing or stunted? Giver

God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor:9:7 When we give for the ministry, for the church, for the saints, to help the poor; God repays from His purse.
