A consistent expression that we see in Leviticus chaters 20,21 and 22 is - I am the one who makes you holy. Amidst the flury of dos and don'ts the Lord repeatedly hits this point " I the Lord am Holy and I am the one who makes you holy.
These rules and regulations are not to make us holy. These are written so that we would understand the standards of God. Following these rules doesn't make you holy. It just makes you a glorified sinner.
It is God's presence in our hearts that make us holy and thence we have to urge to lead a holy life. Not vice versa. Let's make this crystal clear.
Not your will power.
Not your strong desire
Nor you determination
Jer:23:6 Jehovah TSIDKENU. the Lord is my righteousness.
2Cor:5:21 .... So that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
God the Father looks at us and all He sees is Christ's righteousness. It's like seeing through blue sunglasses, everything is blue. - an imperfect allegory but it explains quiet well.
He is all my righteousness
I stand complete in Him and worship Him... Bruce Ballinger
