Jer:9:9
Should I not punish them for this? Says the Lord
Should I not avenge myself against such a nation?
For sin, there is punishment. That is God's way of things.
For every rebellion, there is judgement.
For every disobedience there is casting out.
You think you would escape, Oh! Bard, because of the cross? Because God bore it all? You think all your punishments are taken care of at Golgotha. And you can escape it all? Do you think there is no condemnation.
And then you can revel in sin with no absolute repentance.
Oh! The cross is there.
Cross is the solution for all sin of mankind. Cross is the judgement man had to face, but God bore it all on Himself. At the cross, the casting out has already happened. Agreed.
But with sin being satiated in your belly and pampered in your lap and indulged in your heart, how can you go to His holiness. The pure and brilliant white God? With sin that He so abhors. Will he even look at you? With no repentance. Will He even listen? With your hands so filthy. And your heart so adulterous?
Without repentance how can you even think of approaching His throne? God would probably ask(God forbid) - should I not avenge myself against the bard? Who is so self loving and self seeking? Who is so filled with pride? Who is so arrogant? Who is so lustful and adulterous against me? Who is such an idolator? (And the list would go on...) Who has so much grieved me?
Would I be able to stand before Him? Unless there is no repentance O! Bard, there is no escape. There is no hope. There is no salvation.
You fool yourself when you say.... We are safe.(Jer:7:10). Only to go back to those evils again. Don't be fooled into thinking that you will never suffer because the temple is here (Jer:7:8). In the new testament times..... Because the cross is here.... It's a lie.
Jer:7:3. Even now if you quit all your evil ways. I will let you...
