Judah owns up the second time. He was the one who suggested to sell Joseph to the Ishmaelites. He might have seen the grief of his father. He personally has suffered loss of his two sons in between, Er and Onan. He might have regretted taking that choice.
But now he has got a second chance. Others kept quiet. But Judah speaks up. He owns up to his father regarding his brother Benjamin.
"You may hold me responsible if I don't bring him back to you. Then let me bear the blame forever." Gen 43/9
Similarly he also speaks up before the prime minister of Egypt (who curiously is very inquisitive of their family) - "So please my Lord, let me stay here as a slave instead of the boy and let the boy return with his brothers." Gen 44/33
This is how you learn from your mistakes. Life gives you a second chance, own up for your mistakes and do the right thing the next time. Do not keep doing the wrong things. If the Holy Spirit prompts you, just do it immediately.
I remember that long time ago I had a good collection of Bollywood songs, especially of those artists which I really liked. At one point of time I realized, I was obsessed by it. That was when I decided to delete them all immediately from my hard drive (almost 20GB). Without hesitation I did. And I do not regret it till date.
As a young family we saw that, we were spending too much time in Facebook (the only social media available at that time). That was when we both decided and went ahead deleting our account. It's been 10 years and we don't regret.
One of my mentors, at one point of time realized that he was spending time with newspaper in the morning as the first thing of the day even before he spend time with his Father in heaven. He went ahead and asked the paper boy to stop putting newspaper for him.
I know at least three or four doctor friends who stopped using smartphones because they found themselves wasting time on it. One of them in fact is still using a normal phone.
When life gives you a second chance, own up and do the right thing.
