In Num:13:1 we find out that it was the Lord who instrcted Moses to send 12 leaders to explore the promised land.
It was a test of faith for them. It is not like God testing whether they would have faith. Many a times I have misinterpreted "test of faith", as God putting a test and seeing whether we would qualify.
The picture is not of a teacher putting an exam to see who all would pass. But that of a loving father who would leave his hands so that his child would learn to walk.
Such tests are means for us to exercise our faith.
Unless we are aware of this act of the loving father, we would always see him as a cruel taskmaster. The Lord wants us to grow in our trust in Him. And all circumstances that He takes us through are means by which we would place our trust in Him more and more.
We cannot live in this world without placing our trust in Him. And our faith will only increase if we exercise it. And we can only exercise it if it's tested. And God gives ample opportunities for these tests. It is for us to exercise it.
Let's keep reminding ourselves who our God is. His character. The fact that He never changes and that He is the same yesterday, today and forever underlines our faith.
That He is good.
That God is love.
That He will never leave or forsake us.
That He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the coming of Christ Jesus.
Just trust
🙏
ReplyDeleteI remember my father writing to me when we had to trust God in a difficult season - "God made the furnace too hot in testing to see the quality of His product".
ReplyDeleteOpportunities to exercise our faith is hard at that moment, but we can see that those turn out to be milestones in our journey.
Yes. Something which was ascertained to me today. The fact that I'm loved and accepted should push us further. There is nothing to be proven. So just rest. Just trust
