The Book of Remembrance

Mal:3:16-18

What is the benefit of fearing God? Why should I live a life always thinking about the honour of His name?

Is it not foolishness to forsake all the riches and goodnesses of this world and follow some ideology which seems abstract?

The answer is in today's portion.

Your name will be written in a scroll of remembrance.

What use if my name is written?

Rev:20:12 says- and the books were opened including the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.

Rev:20:15 reads - and anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the Lake of Fire.

If your name is not in that book then, that's it. You're done.

So what if my name is written in it? But still I will be judged according to my deeds are right?

Mal:3:17 - On the day when I act in judgement they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares his obedient child.

Rom:8:1 Now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

John:3:16 - So that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

John:3:18- There is no judgement against anyone who believes in Him.

John:3:36- And anyone who believe in God's Son has eternal life.

John:8:36- So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

Rom:10:9- If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

If your name is in that book, you shall be spared for sure. And how to have your name written in that book? Know that Jesus Christ is God. Believe that He came down from heaven to earth. And accept that He died as a sacrifice instead of me for my sins and He has been raised from the dead and that He is coming back.

Rom:3:22 - We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.

Rom:3:24- Yet God with undeserved kindness declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins.

Rom:3:25- People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.

That is the righteousness, Malachi the prophet talks about - though we are all wicked, we are declared righteous, made right with God, if we accept the redemptive act on the cross. And then you are saved from eternal punishment.

Knowing these is knowledge and accepting this is wisdom. That is the difference you can make. He is not one of the gods. But The Only True Righteous God.

Whether you accept it or not (this is the truth) decides your destiny(for eternity).

Enslaved

It was also credited

Rom:4:22 Therefore it was also credited to him as righteousness. Till now we were talking about the saving faith of Abram, which is credited to him as righteousness. Now Paul talks about faith in the promise of God. That also was credited to him as righteousness. So faith is progressive and increasing in Abram's case. First the saving faith, and then faith in his daily challenges. Yet faith is not about the promise. But the promise maker. The promise keeper. Forgiven is not nullification, but justification

Rom:4:7-8 Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven. And whose sins have been covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account. Quoted from Psalm 32. Credited

Rom:4:3 Abraham believed God and it was credited as righteousness. Justified by faith. Not by works. Faith is the only thing that clears you. Rom:4:4-5. Now to the one who works his wage is not credited as a favour, but as what is due. But to the one who believed in Him, who justified the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness. Support

If God is for us who can be against us? Rom:8:31 This is not like a match, where the home team gets the crowd support. And because of the massive crowd support, you are motivated to do your best. You therefore perform well and then you win. Crowd is for you. But sometimes it will not work that way. That support may often backfire. You will be pressurized to perform well and then you crumble. When St. Paul says that, if God is for us who can be against us, that is not in that sense. He is with you in the game. The nearest similitude is like, the GOAT is playing for your team. Even then you might lose the game. But not when God is on your side. You are sure to win. Because of many reasons. He is God. He loves you so much. He has plans to prosper you.
