Read 2Chron:13
Abijah believed that He had God in his hand, because Judah was chosen and was true to God in making Levites only priests. God had made the dynasty of David a promise. He boasted that they have trusted God and they will win the war.
And they did win the war.
But the final word about Abijah (Abijam) swells up my heart and fills my eyes. 1Kings:15:3 He committed the same sins as his father before him and he was not faithful to the Lord his God.
He thought he could get away with his superficiality. Yes the Lord blessed him and gave him victory. But is that all?
Seeking God when you need him most is good because you realize your helplessness. But do I follow God only for that?
God desires an intimate love relationship, where you hold hands with Him and walk with Him every moment. Not to be a genie in your hand to grant your wishes.
He can grant your wishes, all of them (if it is His will) for He is omnipotent.
He might answer all your prayers.
But there is something more dear one! Are you missing?
