Two pillars at the entrance of the Temple that Solomon built. Jakin and Boaz.
2Chron:3:17
Let these be the pillars of our faith in God as we enter His presence.
* Jakin means - He establishes. That He sets up things up on a firm and permanent basis. Our feet are on the firm Rock. Not shaking ground. Not miry clay. Not in marshy places. Not in sinking sand. But firm solid rock. That He is a God who is true to His own self, His own character. His own nature.
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus name
On Christ the solid rock I stand.
All other ground is sinking sand. - Edward Mote
Clinging on, holding on steadfastly in this God who establishes. That amounts to our response to His immutable nature.
Establish also means - achieve permanent acceptance or recognition for.
Oh! What a wonderful God we serve. No matter how wretched we are. No matter how rebellious we are. He has claimed a permanent position for us to be seated for eternity with Him on the right hand side of the Father.
Therefor now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Rom:8:1
* The other pillar is named Boaz, which means in Him is strength.
Knowing the Rock that we are following, helps us to trust in Him more, on the same God who is our strength. In difficult terrains; He is enough for He is my strength. In the roaring sea; He is enough for He is my strength.
Sometimes He calms the sea.
Sometimes He allows us to walk through the valley of shadow of death. But with the promise that His presence is with us. His rod and His staff will always comfort. He is Sovereign. He is Almighty. He is All powerful. He alone is enough.
Let Jakin and Boaz be our pillars too.
