The Lord chose Gideon not because he was a mighty warrior. He was the least in his clan and his clan was the weakest in his tribe. He was full of doubts and was asking many signs. His heart was confused as to why the Lord is doing this to Israel then. Yet the Lord chose him.
Dear one, the Lord has chosen you for a purpose not because of your merits, not your faith, nor any of your good habits. It is all grace. And that good thing or purpose can be accomplished by you alone.
May be playing the second fiddle. May be working behind the stage. May be a listening ear. May be preaching. May be encouraging the youth. May be songs and worship. That one good thing only you can do, as enabled by God.
So humble yourself more. Submit more to the One who gives more strength. Lean not on your own understanding. Do not be proud of your abilities or even your call.
Saul was the tallest amongst other men. Though he became king, he ultimately disappointed God. David was the most unassuming amongst his brothers, snubbed by his brothers often. But ultimately he became the man after God's own heart.
