paradigm shift

As a teacher of the Law in Jewish community I always meticulously did what my law demanded. What my Torah taught me. And I made sure I taught the common man too.
But this man has been different. He taught with authority. As if He is from God. Why is He different?
We taught an eye for an eye, a hand for a hand. But He teaches to show the other cheek as well.
We taught love your father and mother, your neighborhood and your friend. Love your God is what we taught. But He says love your enemy.
We taught do not commit adultery. He tells do not look lustfully at a woman.
We taught do not murder. He says do not be angry and not call another one Raca.
We taught , be in important places, projecting yourself especially in synagogues be in the most prominent places to worship YHWH. But He says give importance to others.
We taught to give heavy alms and God will bless you. He says that poor widow who gave two shekels gave more than the other one who gave a bag full.

How has He got the power to heal so many lepers. And did you hear of the parlaytic in Bethsheba? They say he was there for the past 37 years. And now he walks.
The evil spiritted are walking sane now.
Even Lazarus. Can you believe? He was dead. And this man goes to his tomb and calls him by name. And even though he was rotten for three days, Lazarus walks out in flesh and bones! I mean who is He?

But Caiaphas says these are all gimicks. He says He is trying to fool. And that He is driving out these demons through Beelzebub. But actually how can a kingdom divided against itself stand? Caiaphas hates this man and he is prejudiced. He says man cannot forgive our sins. But He claims He comes from the heaven. He claims He is the Messiah we are waiting for.
And now Caiaphas has plotted fervently to trap Him. He got hold of one of His friends called Judas, who always had his eyes on the purse. And for thirty silver coins he has agreed to jilt Him.
Even Pilate said He couldn't find anything wrong in Him. And I was there when he washed his hands. ( They say his wife is This man's follower now).
And they have now sentenced Him to the most gruesome death. And never have I heard of being whipped and slashed and then sentenced for crucifixion. And can u imagine, the cross usually weighs almost like a man and sometimes even more. And He had to carry that heavy cross through the streets of Jerusalem. People mocking Him. Crying for Him.
Does this man really deserve this? I have thought always that He hasn't committed any sin. Then why does YHWH allow it? The Lord should have easily intervened. Just like He gave strength to Samson, like Gideon, like splitting the Red sea.
Now I'm standing in Golgotha. Skulls of all those criminals are scattered all around. Does He deserve it? I'm perplexed!
Like me many know that there was no sin in Him. But none of us dared to open our mouth for Caiaphas has threatened us. But I don't know why He did not open His mouth to defend Himself. To justify that He did nothing wrong. He kept quiet. But all through on the cross He kept talking to God. He kept calling Him Father. Man! There is a true man. I presume He has a genuine reason for doing this.
I couldn't look on. I couldn't see Him dying. I felt I have done something terribly wrong. I have sinned against the Lord.
The Torah teaches me to offer a sin offering if I have committed a sin. Tomorrow is Sabbath. A day of rest. So if  I don't do it today. I can't bear the weight of this sin for three days. I have to rush.
I'm getting back home to get my young lamb that I should offer.
One hour later I'm infront of the altar to offer the sin offering. Contrite as I am. Heavy hearted as I am I lay my hands on the lamb and the priest slaughters the Lamb. As I'm waiting for my turn. I see the sky gets darkened. The thunders roll. The sun is darkened. I have never seen this. And with a huge roar the curtain seperating the holy place and the most holy place splits apart.
Awestruck. I can't move my hands. My jaws drop. Can't utter a word. There is a lump in my throat. What is happening. Now people can just barge into the most Holy place.
As I'm wondering what to do with my sacrifice. I hear a strong but soft sound from the most Holy place. I could see no one. But the sound was quiet evident." It is finished"
And also I hear the same voice calling out my name saying there is no need of any more sacrifice. It is all done.

Now i realize, He was indeed Messiah! He came to die as a sacrifice. For me. And what Nicodemus had been saying is true. Born again is not of physical birth. It's something more something deep. Something renewing. Something made new inside.
Is this what He promised of changing my heart of stone to a heart of flesh?

Thresh

Micah:4:12 That He is gathering them together To be beaten up and trampled Like sheaved of grain on a threshing floor.  The Lord gathers together to beat and trample. Oh! Isn't it mean? How can a loving God allow this?  He is supposed to be our fortress and our refuge. He is expected to protect. He should in fact gather to bless. Not to trample. Not to beat up.  Oh! I am bleeding. Doesn't He see it? My tears have gone waste?  The query that came to the bard's mind, as he was pondering whether God is good or cruel, a blessing God or a naive entity is this - What is blessing? How do you define blessing?  Very often the word blessing is linked to - all would go well.  Well that is true in one angle. But the problem is man is tuned to think only finitely. All would definitely go well - for sure. God speaks about eternity. Not about the riches we inherit. But about character. About transforming into the image of Christ. About abundant life.  And this threshing is the

Generation gap

A message for children.  Pro:1:8 My child listen when your father corrects you Don't neglect your mother's instruction Generation gap.  A terminology we snuggly fit in to ease the discomfort in a difficult relationship between a father and a son or a mother and a daughter. Children say they are older generation. They don't understand the present scenario. They don't understand our needs. Their advises are all old fashioned. Not fitting into the present world.  Little do they understand that their parents also might have felt the similar way about their parents only to realise the value of their parent's admonitions later on in their lives as adults. That parents have the wisdom of life. Moreover if godly parents, they being directed by God the Eternal Father, it is indeed wise to accept their advice. Even more importantly, they are God given authority. And their love to you is beyond anyone else in this world. Your own blood. Who else would want the best out of your

Trust

He is close to those who trust in Him. Nah:1:7 Oh! When you feel all alone in this dark world. When you feel you don't have anyone to lean on to. There is one person who promised to be with you, always, to the end of days. He has promised to never leave or forsake you. All we have to do is to just trust in Him. He is true. He will never fail. Even if heaven and earth will fail, His word will always remain.  He is faithful. Trust is the only key to a beautiful relation with the Eternal Father.  Image credit: https://reputationtoday.in/trust-a-virtue-needed-now-more-that-ever-before/

What are we supposed to do Lord?

Micah 6 V:3 What have I done to you?  What have I done to make you tired of me?  V:5 Don't you remember, my people?  When I the Lord did everything I could To teach you about my faithfulness.  V:6 What can we bring to the Lord?  What kind of offerings should we give Him?  V:8 This is what He requires of you.  To do what is right, to love mercy And to walk humbly with your God.  This is the only thing you're supposed to do Oh! bard. Only thing He requires of you. Not to accomplish great things for Him. Not to conquer nations for Him. If that is your calling, well yes, do it. But more important for Him is this. Very simple thing He expects of you.  To do what is right. According to His heart. According to His standards.  To love mercy. To deny all self righteousness and self centeredness, be filled with compassiin and consider others better than yourself.  To walk humbly with your God, denyinh your own self. To keep aside all your pride. To love each other more than y

Delight

Ps:147:11 The Lord's delight is in those who fear Him If you delight in Him, He will delight in you. Oh! Is it like tit for tat?  No dear bard! He has already delighted in you. He has loved you while you were still His enemies. You are mine He declares. You are His signet ring, He proclaims.  Not because you fear Him. Not because He foreknew you would fear Him. But because He loves. Hosea was asked to marry a harlot and he continued to love her despite her unfaithfulness. Just like He continues to delight in you oh! Bard despite your persistance and adamancy. Oh! What love. Where else can you find such love.  Image credit:  https://butternutbakeryblog.com/moist-chocolate-cake/

When you don't have anything else to do......

In the fish's belly Jonah was there for three days and three nights. In that dark place, he could only look to God. He could not run away, which he was so specialized in. He couldn't do anything else which he was an expert. He couldn't do anything he wanted to desperately do. All he could do was to sit in God's presence.  Sometimes God places you in circumstances where you can only pray. You can do nothing else. And at that time, please pray. Do not try to do anything else. Even if you do not feel like praying, that is the time when you are supposed to. Helpless as you are, you can open up to your Father. Words do not matter at that time. Even a drop of tear is enough. You might not be a prolific pray-er. But remember the Father is always listening.  Image credit:  https://www.istockphoto.com/photos/man-praying-on-knees

The Holy Temple

Micah:1:5 Where is the center of idolatory on Judah?  In Jerusalem; it's capital.  The very place which was supposed to be kept sacred and holy, has now been defiled and become the very center of desecration. Fully polluted and corrupted. Why should He not be wrathful?  The heart of holiness; which was supposed to be the throne of the most High God with all His richness and glory has been befouled and debased.  The very heart dear bard - which is supposed to be the temple of the most Holy God, what all do you entertain? Confines the king to a corner in your quiet times and church and bible study. As if you give charity and satisfy Him and then you do whatever you want, the rest of the time.  You think you can fool around with His holiness? This is one chant that goes up in heaven for eternity - Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty. Oh! Don't nullify it with your fancies.  He is serious about His holiness. And that is why sin had to be tackled with. Not just brushed
