Who is God to you?
When we ponder this question
Again and again as we keep probing
We realize who He really is.
It becomes a reason for worship
A reason for praise and gratefulness
Because we see as we mull over
Who He has been in the past to us.
As we say, 'He is my rock'
We realize the strong ground we stand upon
It's not slippery ground
But rock solid foundation - Jesus Christ
On this rock, the foundation is built
He will not let you fall, though you stumble
The Rock, cleft for me
Source of hiding too.
He is my trusted loving ally
Like Jonathan to David
Not even his father, his friend's enemy
Could deter him from loving him.
He is more than a friend
The shoulder to lean on in pitch darkness
That hand will always be there
To wipe away your tears.
He is my fortress
The strong tower to which I can run to
No matter how dark the dungeons look
The way to the tower is always open.
No one can snatch me from His hands
For He has engraved me on His palms
No one can snatch me from the Father's hands
For He is Almighty God.
He is my shield
His love is my shield
His faithfulness is my rampart
Oh! The enemy cannot touch me.
His arrows are all bent and bows crooked
Because my God is a shield around me
The enemy is already defeated
For his head has already been crushed.
The more I ponder on who He is
The more I realize what He has done for me
The more I know Him.
For that is the very purpose of my life.
