Was your God able? - King Darius
As we read those verses about King Darius' mind which is so disturbed because of the plight he himself has pushed Daniel into. He was deeply troubled, in anguish, fasting, refusing to take any entertainment finally drags the night into dawn. Very early the next morning he runs hurriedly and hoping against all logic and hope he asks, Daniel, servant of the living God, was your God whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?
Will we do this? Like this gentile king, who doesn't even know this God personally. In a crisis; in other's crisis do we cry out to our living Almighty God expectantly for an answer. Fasting and skipping all sorts of entertainment and spend time in prayer alone? If not is it not true that we don't know this God even as much as this gentile king knows (forget about Daniel)
Oh! Forgive me Jesus for being complacent in our prayers. For ourselves, for others. Like it is urgent and extremely important we ought to have done it. But failed
We have taken it as a routine. Forgive Lord.
