Ezekiel was asked to eat a scroll which was covered in both sides with funeral songs, words of sorrow and pronouncents of doom (2:10)
But when he ate it, it tasted as sweet as honey (3:3)
The most difficult times of life might look the darkest and scariest. But understand that these would be literally the best days of your life as you will be experiencing God's presence in your life. When God walks with you, He will transform deserts to gardens and darkest valleys to absolutely sunshining clear mountaintops. Because that is the time to humble yourself and rest in the shadow of the Almighty. That is when you taste the presence of God, most.
Because His words, He will never leave you or forsake you, becomes more meaningful and realistic in these darkest times. That is when we realize that He is not abstract and He is so real and alive. That He is in control of our lives and we are safe in His hands and no one can snatch us from those powerful and mighty hands.
And only through these valley experiences we will learn this truth. Not on clear highways when all is well with us. Where we are so pre occupied with ourselves that we don't have time for God.
But in these valley experiences, we realize what we really are and who God really is and depend on His strength as we go through it. We feel alone, but we experience Him, the Almighty. And that is as sweet as honey.
