Refuge

You are my refuge Ps:119:114

Refuge is the place you run to in times of trouble, in times of helplessness and hopelessness. In fact God is our refuge at all times. He is our fortress and our stronghold. He is a shield around us.

And if God is for us, who can be against us? No flames or arrows of the evil one would be able to touch us. They are just there to frighten us. But be of courage. Do not be afraid the one who is in us is more powerful than the one who is in the world.

Ps:84:3

Even the sparrow finds a home

And the swallow builds her nest and raises her young

At a place near your altar

O Lord of Heaven's Armies, my King and my God.

It is not in the home or the nest that the bird builds its trust on. But the fact that, it is in the sanctuary of the most high. It is near your altar. The Lord of Heaven's Armies, His presence is there.

Build your home, raise your children in the Almighty's presence. Make Him your refuge. He will stand by you. He will equip you. He will enable you. The Lord is with you - this is not a myth or something abstract. But a reality.

This is the source of hope we have. His word, His Son, Jesus Christ. The ever present help in times of trouble. Do not doubt. Do not be in anguish. Do not be afraid. Do not fret.

He is my refuge

He is my fortress

He is my shelter

He is the tower to which I run to

He is my citadel

He is my protection

He is my shield.

Everything we need

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. 2 Pet:1:3 Everything we need for our life in this present world; all our material needs; all our basic needs. To have a gentle and quiet spirit, is an incomparable unfading inner beauty. The real beauty is not your outwardly appearance. Real beauty is your inner spirit - to be gentle and quiet. Not to be quarrelsome. Not to be picking fights. But to be a peacmaker. especially in your family. V:1. Wives, in the same way, be submissive to your husbands. In which same way? The Revelation

Revelation is often considered a difficult book to understand. A book which you often can't make head or tail of. Full of prophecies about what is about to happen. How do you interpret it in the present scenario. Who is antichrist. Where is a loving God in this? Unanswered questions all around. But here is a promise. Rev:1:3 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophesy and blessed are those who hear it and take it to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. The attempt is not to give full answers to all your questions. The attempt is to read and hear and believe, so that we would all be blessed. Because the time is very short. Read and hear and believe. Eternal life

What is eternal life? 1 John:2:24-25 See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what He promised us - even eternal life. The Triune God remaining in you and you in Him, is eternal life. John:17:3 - Now this is eternal life. Do not be surprised

Do not be surprised my brothers, if the world hates you. 1 John:3:13 No element of surprise. Expect the worst. Expect hatred. Expect no love. Then you won't be surprised. Because the world hated Jesus first. The world. Not directed to people. The system. We are enemies of the evil one. So naturally the principalities of this world will fight. Hate. Giving is better than getting

Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. 1John:2:15 If you love the world, then the love of the Father is not in you. Anything of this world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life, these are the things that you can summarise about the world. These are not of the Father. If you have these, it is evident that the love of the Father is not in you. The cravings of your body, the second look that you look, the boasts of your life, are against the Spirit who is in you. Anything self centred is not from the Father. Anything that gives you selfish pleasure is not from the Father. But anything that pleases the Father is centred around selfless love. To give.
