Overwhelm

Ps:119:133
Guide my steps by your word
So I will not be overcome by evil.

Your word, keep it in my heart, so that I will be reminded of it when I am tempted to sin. That is one implication.
Ps:119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart
That I might not sin against you.

Yet another beautiful implication is this - when I am overwhelmed by the evil around me, I will find comfort in your word. Your rod and your staff comforts me when I am walking through the valley of shadow of death. For you are with me.
Even after obedience, sometimes suffering continues. Sometimes it overwhelms us so much that we don't understand what or where I went wrong. Sometimes it is unexplainable when the evil one continues to attack like a roaring lion. Whereas the real Lion of Judah is with us. The Word. The Son. God Himself is with us. Immanuel God. We might not have explanations or answers to what we are going through. But the Almighty God is surely with us.

Rom:8:31 If God is for us, who can stand against us.
He has engraven us in His palms.
No one can snatch you away from Jesus' hands.
The Father is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch us from the Father's hands.

Oh! What an assurance. What a hope. Not about eternity alone. But about today. That nothing happens in my life today without the foreknowledge of my Abba, who loves me so so much.

When evil seems to overwhelm, be assured that His love has already covered you.

Amazed - Poem

Matt:8:9 Does your faith amaze Him or disappoint Him?  I have never ever seen faith like this - Will He tell this about you?  I have never ever seen love like this?  I have never ever seen joy like this?  How do you amaze Him?  The All Knowing; The Creator God was amazed What is it that amazes Him in you; dear one?  Your rebellion? Your inconsistency? Your disobedience?  How much should I put up with you, bard?  Time to eat solid food. Time to provide too Whilst you are still drinking; still being fed.  What amazes Him in you dear one?  Your faithlessness or your unfaithfulness?  Your lack of love to Him?  Your lack of indignation to things which He hates?  Lord, Your grace; it amazes me.  Rebellious as I was. Enemy as I was.  Sinner as I am. You still love me.  What is there that you are mindful of me?  That i would be even considered.  Even more. You made me your child.  Grateful as I am. Kn...

Whom do you listen to?

Matt:11:18-19 John didn't spend his time eating and drinking.  Whilst the Son of man feasts and drinks. Both were found fault by the society and labelled.  Whatever you do, there would be people to criticise you and point fingers at you. But as long as you are I'm the center of God's plan and you are sure that you are pleasing God, then you need not bother.  People even from your own fellowship, your own family may blame you for those decisions. Forget about the world who doesn't know your Master. But if you do, after putting in much prayer and take decisions in accordance with what God tells you to do, then why bother about what others have to say. As long as you are sure that it is from God you listen.  John was bold enough to ask the society to repent not bothering about what they told about him. So was Jesus. He kept on doing what He had come to do.  You are affected by what people say about you. Then you are some one who tries to perform before ...

Balanced equation

Everyone who acknowledges me publicly, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.  Matt:10:32-33 The equation is very simple. If you acknowledge that you follow Jesus publicly here on earth; He will also acknowledged you before the Father in Heaven. The devil might lodge a claim that you are his. But the moment the Son of God acknowledges you, His righteousness, the Father sees in you and you are justified.  But if you have denied Him in this earth. He will also deny you. Whether you accept it or not. This is the truth.  Rom:10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  Image credit:  https://www.wikihow.com/Balance-Chemical-Equations

Founded

Founded on a rock Matt:7:25 Where is your life founded on? Rock or sand? Unless you know the word of God; unless you live according to it, when storms and wind hit you straight on your face, you will fall for sure. And that too, great would be that fall.  In this world you will have much trouble, and when troubles strike you hard, this is how you stay strong. Stay rooted in the truths of the Word of God. Make your foundations right.  Not just a mere knowledge, not just an acquaintance. But living it out. This Christmas, let's make our foundations deep and strong. Let us know Him more. Let us live Him more.  Image credit: https://pathwayheart.com/the-lighthouse-in-the-storm/

Unconventional route

When Jesus does miracles and blessings in our lives, we need Him. But when He does it in a different way, when He does it in a way in which it costs us, do we still need Him?  Matt:8:34. The entire town came out to meet Jesus, but begged Him to go away and leave them alone.  Because they suffered financial loss. There, sitting before them were two men who have just been delivered from a legion of evil spirits. The hand of God is quiet obvious. But financial loss is what they blame Him with.  If God asks you to take unconventional routes, do you become uncomfortable? Routes which cost you, your time, your finances, your privacy, your reputation and name? What is more important to you determines what you do. What other things you forsake.  We are no less than the Gaderenes who closed their eyes to the miracle in front of their eyes, yet clinging on to the loss they suffered. Silly and pitiful.  Image credit:  https://beunsettled.co/blog/what-does-...

Rest

Matt:11:28 Come to me all of you who are weak and carry heavy burdens, I will give you rest.  Like John Bunyan's pilgrim, we too grope around with heavy baggages on our back. He has come to take away that heavy load and ease our souls. Jesus has come to give us rest.  If only we would unleash the cords and give it over to Him. He will release us. For He has come to give us freedom. If only we would let Him.  Such a bold and freedom ensuring statement only Jesus can make. For all the helpless. For all the tired and weak and weary. For all those who feel they are done with this life. Jesus promises unending rest.  Image credit:  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sleeping_lion.jpg

Storm

I have captained this ship for years. I have faced many a strom. But never has Captain Zadok been so helpless. What is happening? Why this outrage? The waves are higher than ten times what I have faced. There is ruckus all over this deck. The mast is broken. What is left of it is a ghost. The rudder has flewn off like a wheel. The anchor is lost. The stern is like a ploughed field. The shrouds are like harp strings, waving around and causing much damage. Shredding pieces of wood and flesh and blood everywhere it hits. There is vomit all around. The ocean water occasionally washes it into my own room and brings it back. The luggages are all floating.  All of the crew is running havoc. Captain Zadok, what should we do? Captain Zadok shall we pull down the sail? Captain Zadok shall i call on my gods? You call on your gods, I used to tell, but I have got this. But have I? Is there somebody up there laughing at the gimmicks that i have been showing althrough my life? Asking m...
