You alone - Poem


Based on King Hezekiah's prayer after he received a letter from the messengers of King Sennacherib of Assyria. 2Kings:19:14-19

You are not a God who is confined
Is anything difficult for you; is anything impossible?
All you ask is that we would come to you
When all aides fail; when all helps cease
You alone are God; Help me Lord.

You are not a God, whose identity is a figure
Wooden or golden or metallic, who is limited.
Yet a person: who has an image and likeness
A God who is in favour of those who love Him
You alone are God; not abstract

You are not a god, created by imaginations
Created by necessity of a supreme being that can surpass all
A superhero, created by man's fantasy to rescue him
You are God; always existing; Alpha and Omega
You alone are God; Almighty All powerful

You are not a god, like the shifting sands
Who has a standard today, something else tomorrow
Says something today, and then a different one tomorrow
Who compromises; who has favourites
You alone are God; unchangeable.

You are not a god of fury; but a God of justice
Not a god of compromise; but a God of holiness
Not a god of anger; but a God of love
Not a god of inconsistency; but God unshakable
You alone are God; true to Yourself

You are not a god who would find pleasure in misery
Self torture or agony; for You created me in your image
Fills you with hope of reuniting with Him; your destiny
Has called to bless you; with plans to prosper
You alone are God; so rich in love

You alone are the living God; rest are all worthless idols
You alone are worthy of all praise; coz you walked the talk
You alone are worthy of all my worship
For You alone have done the redemptive act
To bring us back to your bosom; where we are destined to be
You did not order - do this or do that to attain
But you showed what needs to be done. Showed the way for you are the way
You took the first step;  infact you took the only step
All we had to do was to acknowledge You alone are God
And thence be inducted to the eternal family; of fellowship with the Triune God.

Merry Christmas

Rom:15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. The first message of Christmas is peace on earth and good will to all men. The song that angels sang is about joy that comes to the world. Glad tidings to all men is not because it is a festive of gifts and sharing. Not because it is a time of homecoming. It is because of the abounding hope that the God of hope gives. Man who is destined to be in that rut of selfishness and pride and sin, now has a hope, because the selfless God became one of us to rescue us from that pattern. Mankind has hope. You have hope. Love your neighbour

He who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law. Rom:13:8 Love is the core of everything. He who loves his neighbour will not do him/her any harm. No adultery  No murder. No stealing. No coveting. All of the law is summed up in this. The good Samaritan's story tells us whom to love and to what extend to love. Prayer:  Father God, help me to love as you have loved me. Alien I was to you, but you still loved me. Rebel as I was, you loved me still. Help me to love others with no conditions. So that I would be able to forgive; so that I would be able to be a slave to them selflessly. You said you have come not to be served. But to serve. Let servitude be my word too. Selflessly denying my own self, my own ambitions and desires and uphold others desires fully. Lord let there be not even an iota of self creeping in. Transformed

Transformed by the renewing of your mind. Rom:12:2 Many strive to be good. Being good to the society out of obligation or out of selfish interests. But those are all not being good, it is doing or showing good. For inherantly the heart is deceitful. True change has to come from within. If I am showing goodness to someone out of anything apart from love, that's showing, not being. True transformation has to happen by the renewing of mind - a change of mindset. That only the Holy Spirit can do. Here the transformation desired by God is even bigger. The transformation told here is not to be a better human. It is into the likeness of the Son. God's good and acceptable and perfect will is not that you would be a good man or woman, but to be like the Son. By a total change in approach of your mind. The way you think.  This change has to happen from the inside, which God Himself has to do. Not from the outside by you, or by force. Only be desirous of it. Only seek and year...

Let it be....

Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? 1 Cor:6:7 Not that you would be wronged or defrauded. But it doesn't matter when you are wronged. Let it be. Let you be wronged. Let yourself be snatched from. Let yourself be misunderstood. Let you be blamed wrong. When you are affected, when it happens to you, that is self being dented. When others cheat you, if you are hurt then that is ego. You think, people think of you what you are actually not, why do you get affected. What does it cost you if others have a wrong opinion about you?  Where is the attitude of Christ? Who was fully misunderstood, fully blamed wrongly.  If I am sure of my identity in Christ i would never feel bad. He never misunderstands me. He never judges me. He knows me in and out. It is only His opinion that matters. Then let others wrong me. Christ took the freedom to let me go through this. Permissible

All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything. 1 Cor:6:12 Everything is permissible. But not everything is beneficial. Let it not overpower you. You shall not be addicted to it. Definitely not the vice things. But the not so harmful things. The harmless habits. Things that you can, but would you? Does it edify you? Is it beneficial? 1 Cor:10:23 is the litmus test. Does it bring God glory? Ask yourself. Why do I want to do this? Does it bless me? Or will it take me farther away from God. Put your thoughts to what you do. Do not go with the trend. Just because others are doing. Just because of the hashtag. Just to be viral. Sanctified

Sanctified in Christ Jesus.  1 Cor:1:2 Sanctified means made pure. Free from sin. Set apart. It is not just a declaration where God sees you as pure despite your filth. It is not a blind eye to your sin.  It is purified by the spotless blood of Jesus. Who paid the penalty of my sin. No amount of good deeds can purify you and earn you this purity  Former New York Mayor after shelling out his own 50M $ for gun control said I am going straight to heaven. People requote it, like it, share it again and retweet it.Thinking he is right. Sad to say, he is absolutely wrong. The only way to heaven is not your good deeds. Even if you spend 50M$. You can't buy your ticket to heaven.  But only if you believe Jesus is God. And He came down to save you.
