Why do I choose to believe the Bible?


A question that would define my existence and my belief. Is it not illogical, some might ask. Science is a better answer. Here is my take.... Might not be flawless. But this is how I want to put it across.....

God and covenants - a beautiful story. When we look through the Bible,  Everything that He has said, would come to pass, would definitely come true 
Retrospectively; when all the pieces of the puzzles are finally fit, we see one beautiful painting that God Himself was orchestrating. That He is a covenant keeping God. That He is true. That He would keep His word.

And none of His covenant He has failed to keep. None He has broken. None of His promises He has failed to fulfil.
God is true. True to His word. True to Himself. No matter what.

* God's promise to Abraham, Issac and Jacob about the promised land.
* God's covenant with mankind in the garden of Eden that a Saviour is coming.
* God's covenant with Noah, that He wouldn't destroy the earth yet again with water.
* God's word to Israel, that they would go into exile because of their irreverence and disobedience.
* He promised a Saviour King.
* He told well ahead of this Saviour's gruesome death and resurrection.

All came to pass. That is the one reason why I choose to believe that Jesus is coming back again.

Secondly there has been enough personal covenants which I have had with this God. As i spent time with Him, umpteen number of promises He hath given through His word and all of them He hath fulfilled down the timeline. Some might not agree with this - taking the word of God as personal promises. But I have seen His word being multidimensional - theological and personal at the same time. What is written years ago is true for me right now.
I have received healing.
I have received love and encouragement which no one could offer.
I have received miracles.
I have received promises fulfilled.
I have received admonitions and course corrections.
That is why I choose to believe all that is written in here is true. History and my personal life holds a testimony.

    The dependence to have trust and faith in the word of God is an important factor in our lives. That dependence is important. Nice Amit mon. Good thoughts.

Permissible

All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything. 1 Cor:6:12 Everything is permissible. But not everything is beneficial. Let it not overpower you. You shall not be addicted to it. Definitely not the vice things. But the not so harmful things. The harmless habits. Things that you can, but would you? Does it edify you? Is it beneficial? 1 Cor:10:23 is the litmus test. Does it bring God glory? Ask yourself. Why do I want to do this? Does it bless me? Or will it take me farther away from God. Put your thoughts to what you do. Do not go with the trend. Just because others are doing. Just because of the hashtag. Just to be viral. Merry Christmas

Rom:15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. The first message of Christmas is peace on earth and good will to all men. The song that angels sang is about joy that comes to the world. Love your neighbour

He who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law. Rom:13:8 Love is the core of everything. He who loves his neighbour will not do him/her any harm. No adultery  No murder. No stealing. No coveting. All of the law is summed up in this. The good Samaritan's story tells us whom to love and to what extend to love. Prayer:  Father God, help me to love as you have loved me. Alien I was to you, but you still loved me. Rebel as I was, you loved me still. Help me to love others with no conditions. So that I would be able to forgive; so that I would be able to be a slave to them selflessly. You said you have come not to be served. But to serve. Let servitude be my word too. Selflessly denying my own self, my own ambitions and desires and uphold others desires fully. Lord let there be not even an iota of self creeping in. Transformed

Transformed by the renewing of your mind. Rom:12:2 Many strive to be good. Being good to the society out of obligation or out of selfish interests. But those are all not being good, it is doing or showing good. For inherantly the heart is deceitful. True change has to come from within. If I am showing goodness to someone out of anything apart from love, that's showing, not being. True transformation has to happen by the renewing of mind - a change of mindset. That only the Holy Spirit can do. Here the transformation desired by God is even bigger. The transformation told here is not to be a better human. It is into the likeness of the Son. God's good and acceptable and perfect will is not that you would be a good man or woman, but to be like the Son. By a total change in approach of your mind. The way you think.  This change has to happen from the inside, which God Himself has to do. Not from the outside by you, or by force. Only be desirous of it. Only seek and year...

Let it be....

Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? 1 Cor:6:7 Not that you would be wronged or defrauded. But it doesn't matter when you are wronged. Let it be. Let you be wronged. Let yourself be snatched from. Let yourself be misunderstood. Let you be blamed wrong. When you are affected, when it happens to you, that is self being dented. When others cheat you, if you are hurt then that is ego. You think, people think of you what you are actually not, why do you get affected. What does it cost you if others have a wrong opinion about you?  Where is the attitude of Christ? Who was fully misunderstood, fully blamed wrongly.  If I am sure of my identity in Christ i would never feel bad. He never misunderstands me. He never judges me. He knows me in and out. It is only His opinion that matters. Then let others wrong me. Christ took the freedom to let me go through this. Sanctified

Sanctified in Christ Jesus.  1 Cor:1:2 Sanctified means made pure. Free from sin. Set apart. It is not just a declaration where God sees you as pure despite your filth. It is not a blind eye to your sin.  It is purified by the spotless blood of Jesus. Who paid the penalty of my sin. No amount of good deeds can purify you and earn you this purity  Former New York Mayor after shelling out his own 50M $ for gun control said I am going straight to heaven. People requote it, like it, share it again and retweet it.Thinking he is right. Sad to say, he is absolutely wrong. The only way to heaven is not your good deeds. Even if you spend 50M$. You can't buy your ticket to heaven.  But only if you believe Jesus is God. And He came down to save you.
