He was a person who used to play harp for him, yet Saul forgot. He was somebody who used to ease him when the tormenting spirit troubled him, yet Saul didn't realize it was David, later. Saul knew he was a brave warrior, a man of war. Yet comfortably forgot later on.
How pathetic to forget the people who have helped you, supported you in your times of trouble, who prayed for you, who cried with you, who led you to Christ, who strengthened you.
You might have enough reasons to substantiate your actions. Busy? Hurts? Avoidance? If I have been blessed by someone, better be grateful to God for them. Occasionally at least you can ask how they are. To show them you care. You cannot be secluded in your cocoon.
Parents have been part of your life, in its entirety. Through thick and thin, whether in lean patch or not. They have been with you. Now that you are busy with your work. With your family. With your career. With your future. Why don't we have time for them? May be our reasons are undeniable and genuine, but none of them are unmitigated. Just an example that came to mind.
