Confidence


Psalm 31 is a cry for help to God. It is when you realize you are utterly helpless, you seek help. If you feel capable of coming out of the situation you are in, will you not solve your own problems? David asks for protection. God is my rock and my fortress. He pleads, "pull me from the trap of my enemies" Drag me out. Rescue me. 
He prays to God to have mercy on him. Tears blur my eyes, because I'm sad of my situation I'm in. Because of it my body and soul also withers away. Because of grief and sadness. And also because of sin. 
After all the blurting out of his struggles, he expressed his confidence and trust in the Lord. v:14 onwards
I will trust. 
You are my God. 
My future is in your hands. 
How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. 
You hide them in the shelter of your presence. 
You shelter them in your presence. 
He has shown me the wonders of His unfailing love. 
He kept me safe. 
You heard my cry for mercy
And answered my call. 

The confidence and faith he has in his prayer answering God comes out of the belief that God will take care. I just need to trust Him. I just need not worry. 
V:24 So be strong and courageous
All you who put your hope in the Lord. 

How much we need to put our confidence in Him? We need to cling on to Him? He who is faithful. 

John:16:33 Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. 

Your problem might look too huge for you to handle alone. But take courage. He who is in you is more powerful than he who is in the world. Pour out your heart to your Father, trust in Him. Have confidence in His ways. 

Ask the saviour to help you
Comfort strengthen and keep you
He is willing to aide you
He will carry you through

The Revelation

Revelation is often considered a difficult book to understand. A book which you often can't make head or tail of. Full of prophecies about what is about to happen. How do you interpret it in the present scenario. Who is antichrist. Where is a loving God in this? Unanswered questions all around. But here is a promise. Rev:1:3 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophesy and blessed are those who hear it and take it to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. The attempt is not to give full answers to all your questions. The attempt is to read and hear and believe, so that we would all be blessed. Because the time is very short. Read and hear and believe. Unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. 1 Pet:3:4 Though this is told to the wives; it is a very good admonition for all of us. To have a gentle and quiet spirit, is an incomparable unfading inner beauty. The real beauty is not your outwardly appearance. Real beauty is your inner spirit - to be gentle and quiet. Eternal life

What is eternal life? 1 John:2:24-25 See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what He promised us - even eternal life. The Triune God remaining in you and you in Him, is eternal life.  John:17:3  - Now this is eternal life. That they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent Eternal life is not something you will receive on the other side of death. Golden streets, the river that will continue to flow without being dried up, fruits on trees in all season. Eternal life is now. It is knowing Him and remaining in Him. Life in all its abundance. Giving is better than getting

Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. 1John:2:15 If you love the world, then the love of the Father is not in you. Anything of this world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life, these are the things that you can summarise about the world. These are not of the Father. If you have these, it is evident that the love of the Father is not in you. The cravings of your body, the second look that you look, the boasts of your life, are against the Spirit who is in you. Do not be surprised

Do not be surprised my brothers, if the world hates you.  1 John:3:13 No element of surprise. Expect the worst. Expect hatred. Expect no love. Then you won't be surprised. Because the world hated Jesus first. The world. Not directed to people. The system. We are enemies of the evil one.  So naturally the principalities of this world will fight. Hate.
