Rahab says - I know the Lord has given you this land.
She goes on to make such powerful statements of faith - When Jericho is conquered.
And as instructed by the spies, she left the scarlet rope hanging from the window, waiting expectantly for the whole of Israel nation to cross Jordan and come capture her land.
She was the only one who would be excited to see the puff of dust rising from the Jordan banks and people approaching Jericho. She was the only one who would have been jumping with joy in the city of Jericho when the horns where blown and finally the walls fell down.
All out of faith.
Not out of false hope or delusion, but because she came to understand in her mind that the Lord, God of Israel is the supreme God of the heavens above and the earth below.
May be we have faith and we understand that we follow a God who is all powerful and is Supreme authority of all things that we see or not see
But does that head knowledge reflect on to things we say or foresee?
When crisis comes, if we have faith like Rahab, we would be excited.
We would say powerful statements of faith and be encouraged because God is in control and therefore also act upon it.
We wouldn't fret or worry or be sad because of the turn of events in our lives because we know Rom:8:28 and Phil:1:6 are true.
So we worry and we think of negativities not because we are thinking practically (as the world says) but because we do not apply our faith from head to our minds.
So let us put our foot on, and say those statements of faith (even when it seems quiet unlikely) because the God who promised is faithful.
🙏
ReplyDeleteVow , rahab must've been the only one in Jericho to get excited about the attack 😇
