Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Jn:13:34.
Love is the base of Christian belief system. Love your God and love your neighbour are the sum and substance of all the commandments according to Jesus.
Love as I have loved you -
Love your enemy, who ridiculed you, who doesn't consider you, who look down upon you.
Love, so much that you wouldn't consider your life, more worth than loving this person. Love like you are willing to give away your life.
Love so much that you would not consider the position you have been given, as something to cling on to, as compared to the love for this person.
Love selflessly.
Love them, so that you would become a servant of them.
Love them as if you would become empty.
Continue to love them even when they do not reciprocate.
Continue to love them with the same intensity even after you have been blamed and accused.
Love is not just a feeling, which if there, you would love. That is easy.
But love is a choice, that even if you don't feel like loving, even if you don't feel loved, you would choose to love.
This love is not based on the love you receive from the same person. But from the source of love itself, who has lavished His love upon us.
You are my beloved He says. And this deep love, as it overflows in you, you would be able to love as He loved.
Unless you are immersed in His love, you can't love as He loved.
