Rejected

Mal:1:2b-3a
I loved your ancestor Jacob. But I rejected his brother Esau.

Why did you reject Esau? It is not fair to reject someone and accept another. And that too you say, it is based on their actions. Is that fair?
For Esau's sake it might look unfair. But Jacob, He chose. Despite being the deceiver, the cunning evil person, Jacob was chosen.

When God shows mercy, nothing is unfair. Mercy is not something you deserve. You deserve only rejection and judgement based on your actions. But God shows mercy. That is His discretion.
He might have given Esau enough options to choose grace offered to him, which he might have rejected. We don't see that angle. But God the Omniscient has reasons solid enough.

Meanwhile be eternally grateful that you are chosen.

Sea of distress

Zech:10:11 They will pass safely through the sea of distress.  Ps:23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of shadow of death I fear no evil For you are with me.  It is the safety in the journey that God assures. There is no guarantee that you wouldn't go through the sea of distress or the valley of shadow of death. But you will travel through it safe. That is a sure promise. You are with me. That is an assurance. Which will never change.  Oh! dear one. Whatever sea of distress, whatever turmoil you are going through, whatever mighty waves are raging around you. The calm assurance that Jesus is on the ship, is something you can rely on. Something which you can cling to. And He is able to calm the storm is a surety. You are not alone in this. He is with you. He will enable you. He will equip you. He will strengthen you. He will give grace to face. He will not leave you alone.  He will complete what He has begun. According to His plan. His good plan. His hopeful and pur

Are you wounded? Are you weak?

Zech:10:12 By my power, I will make my people strong.  This God equips. The hope is that the weak will not always be weak. In a world which teaches, survival of the fittest, God once again proves, He is of a different genre. He enables the weak, strengthens the heavy laden.  We are not talking about physical strength. We are talking about facing the enemy. A fallen angelic being is definitely more powerful than a finite human. This war would soon be over. Human beings will thoroughly be defeated.  And as God intervenes, He could have eradicated the enemy in a second because He is stronger. But as He equips the weaker being to defeat the stronger being, by resisting, by trusting, by hoping, He instils His power to the weaker being. The weaker one trusts and clings on to Him and the victory is won.  In fact the battle has already been won, because it is the Lord's. But your individual fights with the defeated enemy is also yours to be won. And you cannot win it based on y

Pupil of the eye

Zech:2:8 The pupil of the eye is one's most precious possession. All reflexes try to protect the pupil. Pupillary reflex to light is a sign of life. Therefore it is very close to life itself. God says, you are the pupil of His eye. His treasured possession. Very close to His heart. Therefore He will protect you with all His might. That is why He is a protective wall of fire around you. He is a shield around you.  Ps:91:3-6 He will rescue you from every trap And protect you from deadly diseases.  He will cover you with His feathers He will shelter you with His wings His faithful promises are your armour and protection.  Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night Nor the arrow that flies in the day Do not dread the disease that stalks in the darkness Nor the disaster that strikes at midday 10-11 No evil will conquer you No plaque will come near you For He will order His angels To protect you wherever you go.  14-15 The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love me I

Case dismissed

Zech:3:1-3 One name of the enemy is accuser. He keeps on accusing against us to the Eternal Judge. The bard did that. The bard lied. The bard is angry. The bard is selfish. The bard is sinful to the core and corrupted. He is not fit to be inheriting the eternal kingdom. All my sins - private and public, secret and known to everyone, he lays before the Judge everything to accuse me to take me to hell with him. To prove that I am not worthy to be saved, not worthy to be redeemed. He lists all of them.  And do you know what this Eternal Judge, my Father has to tell him - I the Lord reject your accusations, Satan (v:2). Though all his accusations were essentially true, though I do not deserve to be saved or redeemed, though I deserve only eternal hell, my Father, the Eternal Judge proclaims that He rejects all the accusations of the enemy. For the bard has been forgiven, the bard has been loved, the bard has been redeemed by the Precious blood of the Son Jesus Christ.  And He c

Respect - A Prose

Where are the honour and respect I deserve? Mal:1:6 King Almighty. Magnificent Father Omnipotent. Omniscient. Omnipresent.  Creator. Sustainer. Judge.  Alpha and Omega. The Beginning and the End.  Not created. Always existing. No end.  Humbled Himself to obedience to death.  Even death on the cross.  To redeem. To salvage. To rescue.  Whom? Not His son. But His enemy.  This wretched being.  Stooped down to save me.  Ran to the muck that I'm involved.  Got Himself into it.  The very thing He abhors.  So that this wretched being might be saved Could be cleansed and given heirship.  Oh! He deserves all my honour and respect.  But where is it?  It is only contempt that I offer By giving defiled sacrifices.  Left over time. Not my peak time.  Crippled desire. Soiled interests.  Whilst you should be giving your whole.  He gave His whole to you Where of you have been reluctant.  Part is defiled. Portion is soiled.  While is full and pure. Complete is sacred.  Image credit:  https://buildi

Feign - poem

Read Zech:11:12 Oh thirty pieces of silver Why did you end up in that purse That feigned to pay the penalty Yet you became the betrayal money Why did you get thrown to the potter Why did you pretend to be the ransom money Yes you became the money for the one who died Not on the cross, but on the edge of a rope Yes, oh thirty pieces of silver You were a cause of remorsr for the one Who betrayed his beloved one Yet you led him to death not life You have been blood stained Not the pure innocent blood of the Saviour But of remorse, of guilt - "I have betrayed,  Innocent blood" - echoes as you clang The answer to the Why It has all been told ahead By prophets who foresaw And by the One who foreknew You did not have the choice, oh thirty pieces of silver But the man who gave The man who took, the man who threw They all stand guilty Oh thirty pieces of silver Your descendants this bard uses too To betray my own lover.  Ashamed, wretched.  Yet not guilty. For it is not yo

Return

Return to me and i will return to you  Zech:1:3 Return.  That is the only way. All other ways are useless. This way of return is the only one that you need to take. Because your destiny is His bosom. You have squandered enough opportunities. When you are asked to come back, when you take the first step, He is not a God, who moves farther away. He is not even someone who stays where He is, waiting for you to reach back. The moment you take the first step to return, He will take His step to come to you. Though He never went away.
