The powerful winds hurled, the violent storm was rising, the ship was about to be destroyed, lives including those of the other sailors were in danger. All because of Jonah's disobedience. All happened so that Jonah would come back on track.
John:16:33. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, for I have overcome the world.
Trials and sorrows and troubles and hardships whether it is out of your disobedience or not, are for your good. Because the word says that all things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Can we trust His Sovereignty?
Goodness might not be as you imagine - in healing, in stoppage of persecution, in financial stability, but in coming back in track to God. Because it was for this you have been created. Being tuned to the person of Christ.
So can we say trials and troubles are good? Can we thank Him for our trials?
Because without these you would continue to drift into the world's rut.
