Jer:5:18 Yet even in those days I will not blot you out completely, says the Lord.
Sins of Judah are piling up. From one sin to the next they bounce around. Adultery, idolatory, rebellion what all and what not?
God is overwhelmed seeing their rebellion, as we read through His words.
- If you can find even one just and honest person.
- They are still telling lies.
- Lord you struck your people.
- But the leaders too as one man has thrown off God's yoke.
- How can I pardon you even your children have turned from me.
- They committed adultery.
- They are lusty stallions
- Should I not punish them for this?
- Should I not avenge myself against such a nation?
- Because the people are talking like this, my messages will flame out of your mouth.
After all the letting out of anger, finally God says, yet even in those days, I will not blot you out completely.
If you look at it, there is injustice. Not all are punished, who has sinned.
But if you look at the remnant's point of view, there is grace. It is by shear grace of God that they have been saved.
God in His sovereignty has chosen to be gracious to you dear one. Destined to be far away from Him, because of your sinfulness and your sins. God rich in grace chose to show mercy to you and make you a remnant. Why?
So that we would see the hand of the merciful God in all this and then point to God for others to be included in the fold.
There is nothing called a part time minister. Your entire life is a reflection of God's grace
Because the reason for your very existence is God Himself.
1. Because He created you
2. Because He gave you a second chance.
