All of us are in positions, where we are looked up to. As fathers/mothers - children look upto us. As incharge in our work places - there are juniors and subordinates. As part of the fellowship there are young people who look up to us. Let us take the example of King Josiah
2 Chron:34:30-32
There the king read to them the entire Book of the Covenant that had been found in the Lord's temple. The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the Lord's presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all His commands, laws and decrees with all his heart and soul. He promised to obey all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll. And he required everyone in Jerusalem and the people of Benjamin to make a similar pledge.
My burden is we would take this up seriously as parents especially- other roles are also significant. But we have some tender buds given to us; to form their character; to make them what they ought to be; centred in God's will and not being influenced by the outside world.
Deutr:11:18-20
So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates, so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land.
Take up responsibilities. Fathers take initiative. Mother's take up the place of authority. Older brothers and sisters be serious about your younger ones (in family and in fellowship). Time is running out. If you could bring them an inch closer to God than yesterday.
